Jenna and Evan were married at Yesterday Spaces in Leicester, N.C. on November 3. The bride looked radiant in a lace chiffon gown with a Queen Ann neckline and keyhole back. She wore her hair down in soft romantic curls and accessorized with a bedazzled headband. She carried a unique bouquet of fall-colored tulips, ranunculus, billy balls, thistle, pin cushion protea, freesia, roses, sunflowers, and queen anne’s lace. Her ‘maids were outfitted in brown chiffon dresses with beige boleros and simple blue necklaces. The groom wore a tan three-piece suit with a bow tie and matching fedora. His men wore tan pants with brown and orange plaid button-down shirts. The couple was married outside in the midst of the gorgeous fall foliage. Guests sat in wooden folding chairs with sunflower aisle markers. Three young girls outfitted in white dresses carried a banner down the aisle that read “Uncle Evan, here comes your bride!” Jenna’s father walked her down the aisle, and the pair exchanged vows under white fabric that was hanging from the tree above them. After they officially tied the knot, guests made their way toward the reception venue. A welcome table sat outside, in lieu of a guest book, the couple asked guests to leave their fingerprint on the sketch of a tree. Guests sat at long banquet tables with white linens and burlap table runners. Each table featured glass jar centerpieces with flowers. A music group consisting of an accordion, cello, banjo, guitar, and violin played while guests danced and enjoyed the table of cakes and pies for dessert. The fall celebration was a beautiful day Jenna and Evan are sure to remember forever.
Ali and Liam were married at Bluefield Farm in Blauvelt, N.Y. on July 19. The bride wore a short lace wedding gown with an illusion neckline, accessorized with a curly updo and fingertip-length veil, while the groom wore a tan suit, accessorized with a tie. Her bouquet featured roses, dahlias, and thistles. Guests were greeted at the ceremony with the most colorful, handmade garland backdrop.”One of my best friends sang La Vie en Rose as I walked down the aisle, and it was gorgeous,” Ali said. “Another good friend from Argentina was supposed to do a reading (about friendship) during the ceremony, but when she came up to do it, she was so overcome with emotion that she literally wasn’t able to do it. After trying to read the first line a few times and not being able to stop crying, she just hugged us both and went back to her seat. It was incredibly touching.” Following the outdoor nuptials, lawn games such as cornhole, bocce ball, croquet, and ladder toss. The reception took place inside the barn. Tables were decorated with burlap runners, milk glass jar centerpieces, heart-stamped kraft paper placemats, and s’mores favor bags at each place setting. “The pulled pork from Dinousar BBQ, who catered the wedding, was delicious,” she said. The newlyweds’ best advice? “It’s worth the effort to personalize your wedding and make it your own,” Ali said. “It’s A LOT more work, but it makes the whole event more meaningful.
Taylor and Paul were married at Royal Oaks Farm in Harvard Ill. on June 14. “We visited our wedding site in the middle of a huge snowfall and knew through all the snow that it was going to be beautiful,” Taylor said. “It was perfect for us.” The bride wore a v-neck a-line wedding gown, accessorized with her hair down in loose curls with a fingertip-length veil and gold leaf earrings, while the groom wore a gray suits, accessorized with plaid ties. Bridesmaids wore short coral chiffon dresses and carried bouquets of dahlias, scabiosa pods, pincushions, and craspedia balls. “I had all my best friends in my wedding with me,” she said. “God gave us the most beautiful day too.” The ceremony took place outside overlooking 120-acres of apple orchards. Aisles were lined with wood slices etched with the words of 1 Corinthians 13 on them such as: it’s faithful, patient, and love never fails. “I loved all the wood pieces that my father-in-law cut and my father and I sanded down and wrote on for the aisles,” Taylor said. Fun fact: After the “I dos,’ portraits were taken on the carousel. Guests were asked to write their advice and well wishes on pieces of Jenga blocks. “My sister gave the best maid of honor speech,” she said. “I barely teared up all day, but I definitely cried during her speech.” Tables were decorated with burlap runners, mason jar centerpieces, and votive candles. Plus, the cake was only two-tiers of ruffled, buttercream frosting goodness. Yum! The newlyweds’ best advice? “Remember that no matter what details get messed up or can’t happen, you are marrying your best friend and that is all that really matters about the whole entire day,” Taylor said.
Ashley and Matthew were married at Mount Valley Farm in Orange, Va. on June 7. “It was convenient and even in the winer time it was beautiful,” Ashley said. The bride wore a strapless fit ‘n’ flare wedding gown with beaded lace appliques, accessorized with a birdcage veil, while the groom wore a white jacket, silver vest, and black pants, accessorized with a solid tie. Bridesmaids wore long one-shoulder mint chiffon dresses and carried bouquets of roses, gerbera daisies, succulents, and olive branches. Guests were greeted with a metal bicycle with balloons, milk glass jar crates, vintage trunks and suitcases, and washboards. Notice the transportation was a tractor and hayride trailer? “Our vows were very traditional,” she said. “But for some reason as Matt was saying his, I became very emotional, and I didn’t expect that kind of reaction from myself.” The newlyweds’ best advice? “Don’t stress over the details,” she said. “In the end, the important thing is that you have married the person you love.” Dinner and dancing followed inside the tented reception with Southern BBQ fare such as prime rib, grilled chicken, and cheesy potatoes. Yum! Tables were decorated with peach linens, mason jar and wine bottle centerpieces, and antique oil lamps. “Old family pieces were used everywhere,” Ashley said. The super-sweet dessert display not only had a cake but lots and lots of cupcakes topper with raspberries. And ice cream too!
Reagan and Dan were married in a traditional church ceremony at Hamilton College followed by a reception at Harding Farm in Clinton, N.Y. on June 28. “There’s always something special about stepping back into the place where you first fell in love,” Christopher Szulwach, the photographer, said. “That’s exactly why these two traveled back to their alma mater from Washington, D.C. The beautiful chapel (the oldest of its style in the United States), and the Hamilton College’s campus was the perfect place to gather family and friends for the ceremony because of its rich history.” The bride wore a strapless lace fit ‘n’ flare wedding gown, accessorized with a pair of pointe shoes, while the groom wore a dark gray suit, accessorized with a heart patterened tie. Bridesmaids wore short navy blue chiffon dresses and carried bouquets of sunflowers wrapped in twine. Once the glass was broken, shouts of “mazel tov” could be heard, near and far. “Everyone then made the short, mile and half, trip to Harding Farm for the tented reception,” he said. A chalkboard sign directed them to “find a photo to find your table.” Tables were decoated with checkered linens, mason jar centerpieces, and origami folded napkins at each place setting. “The big day was full of personal touches: sunflowers everywhere in memory of Reagan’s father and her special memories planting them with him each year as a child, Dan’s tie tack, which was passed down to him from his father, who is also no longer with us, Reagan’s bouquet was wrapped in one of her father’s old ties, the custom embroidery in Dan’s suit, and the fun selection of pies instead of cake,” Christopher Szulwach, the photographer, said. “Now, this is a wedding I would call classicly trendy!”
