To me, “What Makes You Beautiful” is NOT a good first dance song….it is a big time party tune that fits in much better towards the middle of your reception when the party is really going

Not feeling 6 out out of 10 of these songs for Top 10 First Dance Songs. All great songs but not quite First Dance material. The only sensible picks on this list are:

“A Thousand Years” by Christina Perri
“You are my Rock” by Beyonce,
“Just the Way You Are” by Bruno Mars
“Kiss Me” by Ed Sheeran (great song)

The others are either too fast or the lyrics are not “wedding appropriate”. Even “Just a Kiss” by Lady Antebellum was a little “iffy” for me. It’s a great song but the lyrics don’t quite fit as a first dance song.

My prediction for 2013, is that couples will go for the songs above by
Perri and Sheeran, but many will refer to some of the classics. What do you think?…

Really?? Justin Beiber, One direction? What , are we getting married at age 12? I am an ADULT, therefore I am having ADULT music at my wedding -_-

Like other respondents, I am not fond of half of your selections as they just don’t have the proper feel for a first dance (e.g., One Direction). Newer songs that I do like for 2013 include Wanted- Hunter Hayes, Just a Kiss – Lady Antebellum, I Won’t Give Up – Jason Mraz, Are You Gonna Kiss Me or Not – Thompson Square, Marry Me – Train
