Q & A with the Bride:
What was the one thing about your venue that made you know it was the one?
The romantic rolling vineyards, and the light in wine country. It always looks like you’re in a movie.
Which three details from your wedding were your favorites?
I really loved my flowers. Jamie did an incredible job with the colors and textures. We also loved the car. It was a really fun ride and we felt so regal. Finally, the fact that our wedding was an entire weekend to spend with friends. We could relax, drink wine, eat great food, lie around in our robes by the pool — like having our own private resort.
If you could offer one piece of advice for other couples planning their wedding, what would it be?
If there’s one thing I’ve learned is that patience pays off. Sometimes you need to trust in the universe that everything will turn out fine, and it always does.
Give us the one moment in your wedding day you can’t stop thinking about.
Seeing Avi’s eyes when he first saw me on our wedding day.

Jill + Rich
June 2011
Santa Rosa, California
This bride and groom are from Massachusetts and wanted a wine country destination wedding. We love the color choices for the flowers mixed with the turquoise vases and tropical foliage. Such a different feel for a vineyard wedding – and so perfect above a wine barrel!

Ginna + Sheffield
October 2010
Fishersville, Virginia

From the Photographer:
“Sheffield stepped up to read his vows and asked, “for those of you who knew me before I met Ginna, how many of you thought I would never marry?” Hands shot up in the air and laughs punctuated the silence. He continued, “The reason you thought that was because I was convinced I was meant to be alone. I believed it so much I made everyone around else around me believe it too…. I never thought that I would find someone who loved me just the way I am, especially someone so hot.”
Ginna and Sheffield first met at a wedding. Some of their first exchanges were recorded congratulations to their mutual friends on that wedding day. During that first meeting they shared stories and interests and from that point on their lives would never be the same. Of course, like any great love story (and Sheffield and Ginna’s story is truly great) their journey did not come without challenges. Five years after that first meeting, on October 10th, 2010 they proved that their love was greater than anything that could keep them apart and pledged to love and live together forever. Never have I been to a wedding that has expressed more deeply – in each aspect of the day – the love between two people. Sheffield and Ginna bonded over many things, but they particularly loved words. As actors they knew the power of words and memorized and delivered them daily. No words were more genuine, more true, or sincere than the ones they declared on their wedding day.” -Mary Dougherty Photography

Tres Hermanas Winery
Santa Barbara Wine Country, California

From the Bride: “We DIYed all the flowers and purchased the mismatched vases from a Goodwill store. I also DIYed the veil; I couldn’t bring myself to spend $1k or anything even in the hundreds for a veil so I bought a veil from Michael’s and chopped it up for the look I was going for. Since we got married at a winery we opted for a wine ceremony mixing 2 wines to become one. The winery where we got married was particularly special to us as over the years. We would come visit the location and drink wine with other friends and family below this beautiful tree they had in their field and when we became engaged we didn’t look anywhere else, we knew Tres Hermanas would be the place to get married.” -Jacqueline
