Meghan and Christopher were married in a traditional mass ceremony at the Blessed Sacrament Parish followed by a reception at the Loft at Russell’s in Seattle, Wash. on October 13. “The church itself is breathtaking and made us feel very connected,” Meghan said. “We loved how high the ceilings were and how much natural light flowed through. There were beautiful stained glass windows, and a lovely old Catholic church feel with brick interior. The immediate warmth made us feel right at home.” She walked down the aisle wearing a lace wedding gown with capped sleeves, accessorized with a sapphire cross necklace, while her groom stood waiting at the altar wearing a gray suit, accessorized with an emerald tie to match the bridesmaid dresses. “It was the most memorable part of the day,” she said. “I really took time to look at everyone who was there, especially mine and Chris’ family.” Following the ceremony, the newlyweds exited the church with a bubble send-off and were off to the reception. Tables were decorated with different colored vases, from green to blue and purple to white, filled with lush white blooms and greenery. Our favorite detail? The two little birds on the wedding cake!
Haley and Louis were married at The Bend on Hood Canal in Union, Wash. on September 21. “We absolutely loved the breathtaking panoramic views of the canal and the Olympic Mountains above,” Haley said. “The forecast showed that it was going to be 80% chance of precipitation, and we woke up that morning to gorgeous clear skies. It did rain for about 10 minutes that actually made for some really great pictures in a row boat, but it then cleared up again, and there was even a rainbow right after.” Can you believe that guests traveled from all over the word to be there? Exactly 5 continents. Minutes before the clear framed tented ceremony began, their two nieces decided they were going to pull their two nephews in a wagon. “One was missing shoes that could not be found anywhere, but they walked down the aisle, and did it,” she said. “They were such a hit that everyone cheered and clapped for them.” A wine box, handmade by the bride’s father, was used as a unity symbol during the ceremony. “It will be a wonderful anniversary tradition,” Haley said.
Ali and Ben were married at Trezzi Farm Winery & Vineyards on June 22. “The site was beautiful, but not ostentatious,” Ali said. “The sliding barn doors, the long handmade wooden tables — I just loved it! I knew it was where I wanted to get married.” She walked down the aisle wearing a lace mermaid wedding gown, accessorized with an ivory, and carrying a vibrant wildflower bouquet, while Ben stood anxiously in his tan suit, accessorized with a navy blue tie. With the rolling hills in the background, these two said, “I do.” The reception was decorated with handmade table runners, mix ‘n’ matched place mats, coffee bean favors in drawstring bags, and paper wreaths made from old book pages. “There isn’t one single moment that sticks out more than others,” she said. “I remember. . .eating awesome food and amazing cupcakes and dancing with everyone — it was the perfect day!”
1. What was the one thing about your venue that made you know it was the one?
The natural beauty. We loved that the venue was in the valley. There was so much natural beauty with the cascade mountains in the background and beautiful fields all around. It was so gorgeous! The reception area’s doors slid open so our guests could wander from outside to inside and enjoy the scenery. It was perfect.
2. Which three details from your wedding were your favorites?
2. Our vases – Austin and I spray painted an assortment of mismatched vases from the goodwill in dover white. We used them for all of our centerpieces and down the aisle. Every table was different but the same!
3. Our photo booth – We had a wooden photo booth set up outside where our guests could pose and take pictures. We created a hashtag so they could upload them to Instagram to share. Those were fun to look at!
3. Give us the one moment in your wedding day you can’t stop thinking about.
The whole ceremony was magical. From the moment we were greeted by two monarch butterflies just before walking down the aisle to the part where we said “I do” and sealed our love with a kiss. It was full of so much emotion. It will stick with us forever!
Which three details from your wedding were your favorites?
All of the bouquets (plus table centerpieces) were fresh-cut tulips from Pike Place Market in Seattle. The tulips were in season and were a special order from a local farm. The table numbers at the reception were also a favorite detail. The numbers pasted on a printed silver and yellow paper, then framed, were a last-minute project the night before the wedding. And to match the gray, white and yellow theme, the bridesmaids gifts were gray crocheted Toms shoes. They came in handy for the bridesmaids who wore them as “dancing shoes” throughout the reception.
If you could offer one piece of advice for other couples planning their wedding, what would it be?
Everything will work out! It can be stressful and seem nearly impossible to keep track of all of the details (big and small), but even if something is overlooked, you will likely be the only one who cares. We forgot to purchase cake plates and silverware and did not realize until right before we cut the cake. Ian announced to our guests that they would all have to eat cake with their hands, and it became a funny moment from our wedding (luckily our wonderful venue had backup plates and utensils stashed away that we were able to use). Relax and try to be “in the moment” throughout your big day. Moments are what you will remember, not the details.

Our favorite moment from our wedding is when we said our vows. It was a beautiful ceremony and reception, but the vows were the reason we were there- to commit ourselves to each other and start a life together. Out of all of the special moments from that day, that is one we cherish the most.
