Valerie and Amy were married at Monterre Vineyards in Orefield, Penn. on May 17. “We first connected over a bottle of wine; a vineyard seemed quite fitting,” Valerie said. “It was also quaint and rustic and offered a beautiful oak tree for our ‘I do’ backdrop.” The bride wore a strapless a-line wedding gown with a ruffled skirt, accessorized with a jeweled sash, while the other bride wore a satin one-shoulder a-line wedding gown, accessorized with a pair of red platform pumps. “Our son decided he wanted red at the wedding, but I wanted to stay away from traditional combinations,” she said. “So, we went with a ‘citrus’ color scheme.” Guests were greeted with a program that said, “during the ceremony, we will ask for support, hear a reading, take our vows, exchange our bling, braid a thing, hammer some nails, and cry some happy tears.” Following, the Mrs. and Mrs. led the way to cocktail hour with ribbon wands “like you just don’t care.” Once inside, seats were found via keys, tables were decorated with orchid centerpieces, bird’s nests and eggs, and bottle numbers, and Mad Libs and a Hershey’s chocolate bar, which served double-duty as favors, at each place setting. The newlyweds’ best advice? “Give yourself time,” Valerie said. “Spread out the timeline if you can that way you can really soak up every bit of it. Oh and have enough time to eat and enjoy the appetizers too.”
Liz and Zach were married at King Family Vineyards in Charlottesville, Va. on April 26. “We were looking for a beautiful ceremony and reception space all-in-one, but it was very important to us to find a venue that had just as beautiful of a setting for our ceremony if it were to rain,” Liz said. “After seeing some pictures of indoor ceremonies at King Family Vineyards, we knew it was ours.” The bride wore a strapless ball gown, accessorized with a floor-length veil and a statement necklace, while the groom wore a three-piece gray suit, accessorized with a solid bow tie. Bridesmaids wore long blush chiffon dresses and carried bouquets of peonies, roses, and snapdragons. Fun fact: Liz also designed the invitations! “The moment before walking down the aisle is what stands out the most,” she said. “I was weirdly calm throughout the entire day of our wedding until I was standing at the double doors about to go outside. I was arm-in-arm with my dad. I could feel his pulse and my pulse at the same time and was lookout out at all of our family and friends waiting to watch us get married. It was an indescribable feeling!” Following, guests were direction inside for the reception. Tables were decorated with chevron patterned runners, mercury glass vase centerpieces, and candles. “I loved all our flowers,” Liz said. “Our cake table too.” A dessert display featured the two-tiered cake and cupcakes, which served double-duty as favors. The newlyweds best advice? “Hire a planner!” she said. “They will keep you sane during planning and relaxed on the day of.”
Bridget and Karl were married at Campovida in Hopland, Calif. on November 1. “The grounds of Campovida are amazing, there is no mistaking that,” Bridget said. “There were so many vibrant and beautiful natural spaces for us to host our family and friends.” The bride wore a sweetheart a-line wedding gown with lace appliques, accessorized with her hair half-up/half-down in loose curls, while the groom wore a black three-piece suit, accessorized with a bow tie. Bridesmaids wore long black chiffon dresses and carried bouquets of roses, ranunculuses, and vines of ivy. The ceremony took place underneath a giant oak tree. Bridget’s favorite moment of the day? “My dad and I had just gotten out of the car, and Gwen was readying my dress for it’s big debut, ” she said. “I saw all of these smiling faces in the sunlight gazing back at us as I continued to take in all that was in front of me, seeing everything we’d planned so hard for. It was just as it was supposed to be! But then, there was the man I was about to marry with a big smile on his face. I took a deep breath, and my nerves were settled instantly.” Dinner followed at the pergola with tables decorated in damask patterned linens, votive candles, and leaves. “All Star Juxebox rocked the house,” Bridget said. “The dance floor was full the entire night and all of our guests raved about them too.”
Marci and Paul were married at Chamard Vineyards in Clinton, Conn. “As we started to plan we noticed a theme coming together,” Marci said. “A celebration of Connecticut! When I first moved to Connecticut, I thought it was only temporary, a stop on the way to wherever else I was going, but it grows on you. No place has quite the combination of city and country, the ocean and the woods, the well-to-do and the down-to-earth. Best of all – it is the place where Paul and I met each other and have so many great memories.” The bride wore a sweetheart lace fit ‘n’ flare wedding gown, accessorized with a gray sash and fingertip-length veil, while the groom wore a black suit, accessorized with a striped yellow tie and bulldog cufflinks. The outdoor ceremony included a unity candle and a bubble processional. Guests enjoyed sipping on signature cocktails and eating hors d’oeuvres during cocktail hour as they wrote down their best advice for the newlyweds on questionnaire cards. Inside the tented reception, tables were decorated with centerpieces of peonies, dahlias, and scabiosa pods, chalkboard table numbers, and burlap runners. Notice the star on the ceiling? Bottles of wine were given out as favors and had a tag that said, “Love is like a fine wine, it only gets better with time,” and buckets were filled with s’mores bags to roast over an open fire. Yum!
Kabri and Jora were married at Bedell Cellars in Cutchogue, N.Y. in front of 80 of their closest family and friends, traveling from over 14 states, on September 28. “The grounds gave us the connection we wanted to nature and the outdoors,” Kabri said. “There was a big tree that we could use as the centerpiece of our ceremony, and the open-air pavilion looked out onto the vineyard for the reception.” The color scheme incorporated red, oranges, and purples or “mountain sunset.” “We wanted to evoke the beauty of fall,” she said. As guests arrived, they were greeted with a chalkboard sign that quoted Robert Mondavi, “Wine to me is the passion, it’s friends and family, it’s warmth of heart and generosity of spirit.” The nuptials began shortly after they chose a seat not a side. To symbolize their unity, the two nail a bottle of wine and love letters inside a wooden box to be open on their fifth anniversary.”While the sun was setting over the vineyard, Jora and I rose and gave the first toast of the evening. . . we wanted to share our appreciation for their fervent desire to celebrate our marriage,” Kabri said. The newlyweds’ favorite part? The food! “The farm-to-table menu that we created with our caterer exhibited the season’s and region’s local and delicious produce. It was definitely the highlight,” she said.
