Q & A with the Bride:

1. What was the one thing about your venue that made you know it was the one?

It aesthetically met our expectations, and it was actually in our budget. We looked at maybe 30 different venues during the search for the perfect place. There were some beautiful venues that we came across, but the prices weren’t too beautiful. When we visited The Charles Mack Citizen Center, we knew that aesthetically, it would fit our vision for the wedding and financially, it wouldn’t hurt our wallets too much.

2. Which three details from your wedding were your favorites?

One, the intimacy of the wedding. We wanted to keep the guest list small, and we wanted only our closest friends and family to be present. Two, the joy that everyone seemed to share throughout the day. Even during the stressful moments, everyone was smiling and relaxed. And three, the wintery theme and atmosphere. We’re both cold weather people, so it just felt natural to go with a winter themed wedding.

3. If you could offer one piece of advice to other couples planning their wedding, what would it be?

It is possible to set a low budget and still achieve the wedding of your dreams. From the very beginning of the planning process, we kept saying that we weren’t going to spend tons of money just for this one day; albeit, a very special day. So we wrote out a budget, and we got creative. Everything turned out exactly as we planned. It was the perfect day.

4. Give us the one moment from your wedding that you can’t stop thinking about.

The few minutes following the ceremony; we didn’t plan on having a receiving line, but ended up having one anyways. Everyone was crying and hugging, and they seemed genuinely happy for us.
