Laura & Derek

July 16

Misty Farm – Ann Arbor, Michigan

“Laura & Derek’s wedding was romantic, fun, light-hearted, and filled with personality and thoughtful DIY touches. The whole day was spent at the amazing Misty Farm in Ann Arbor. The couple’s family and friends all contributed in such awesome ways- Laura’s friends got together to put the bouquets of wildflowers together themselves, and the guys’ boutonnières were handmade felt creations. Laura’s matron of honor Megan wrapped each of the bouquets with a unique mix of burlap, twine, buttons and personal details (Laura’s had a locket photo of Derek as a little kid).  Each table had an herb or vegetable theme, with vintage tins, wildflowers, antique botanical illustrations. Guests were given cute little pots and seed packets to start their own gardens, with recipes and personal stories from the couple. The dessert table was filled with contributions from relatives- scrumptious homemade goodies. Their wedding cake was, of course, delicious since it was from Ann Arbor’s own Zingerman’s Bakehouse, with an adorable cake topper made by Star House. Listening to the funny and touching toasts, we learned more about Laura and Derek’s love story- everyone agrees that this couple is absolutely perfect for each other. And it was obvious- they laugh together all the time, and look at each other with such love!” ~Tracy and Riva Modern Wedding Photography

Rock and Roll Pink Vintage Wedding

Rebecca & Danny

October 8

Pontiac, Michigan

“Rebecca & Danny’s wedding was super creative and inspired, with vintage touches of romantic florals, hobnail milk-glass vases, antique birdcages, and heirloom lace doilies. It was such a wonderful contrast with the industrial Crofoot Ballroom, built in the 1830s. Their ceremony was officiated by a good friend and they were surrounded by happy family and friends. Danny’s band, The Strangers, played at the reception, and he serenaded his new bride, as guests turned into dancing fans. It was such a great celebration and everyone had an amazing time!”

Anna & Josh

August 20

Grosse Pointe, Michigan

From the Photographers: “Anna and Josh were married at the historic Grosse Pointe Academy in Grosse Pointe Farms, MI. Anna’s creativity and DIY spirit showed through in everything, from the personalized Jones Soda bottles to the bouquet she made of vintage brooches that she collected at antique stores and flea markets over the past year. Their tandem Schwinns were adorable- vintage green and blue bicycles built for two! The theme carried through to their cake topper and cute little charms on their favors. All of the details were colorful and fun, and really represented the couple’s unique style. The fantastic Sun Messengers played in the tent outside the Academy and had the whole crowd dancing all afternoon. Anna’s brother John played a solo of Dave Matthews song You & Me. The cake was delicious- made by Royal Oak’s Pronto! Restaurant. Everyone had a ball, and even the storm that came through later that afternoon didn’t get anybody down- Anna & Josh had a wonderful day and we are so happy we got to share it with them!” ~Tracy and Riva
