Q & A with the Bride:

1. What was the one thing about your venue that made you know it was the one?

I was looking for a rustic but elegant look and thought Gabriel Springs was perfect for this.  I also loved the openness of the venue, and how all guests would be in one room.

2. Which three details from your wedding were your favorites?

1. Beautiful florals

2. Vintage lace wedding gown

3. Bridesmaids’ Kendra Scott earrings that really made my color scheme pop!

3. Give us the one moment in your wedding day you can’t stop thinking about.

The one moment I can’t stop thinking about is walking down the aisle to the man of my dreams and seeing the look in his face.  It made everything feel so right.

Q & A with the Bride:

What was the one thing about your venue that made you know it was the one?

It felt like a secret garden- so beautiful and intimate. It was important to me that our guests felt special (because each one of them is so special to us) and I knew they would feel that way in the garden.

Which three details from your wedding were your favorites?

  1. My dress!
  2. The yellow topiaries
  3. The record on the groom’s cake

If you could offer one piece of advice for other couples planning their wedding, what would it be?

Don’t just focus on the wedding. Focus on the marriage too. The wedding lasts for just a few hours and is only the beginning of forever.  Yes, the wedding details are important, but a lifetime of companionship is that much more important. Prepare emotionally, spiritually, financially, mentally and any other way to make sure everyday of forever is just as joyous and an equally exciting celebration of life as your wedding.

Give us the one moment in your wedding day you can’t stop thinking about.

Only one? It was all such a magical dream that still seems like there is no way it was real. Putting on my dress, seeing Jon, walking down the aisle, taking millions of pictures, dancing in the garden, and talking to so many friends…I never want to forget a single detail of the most magical day when I promised to love my best friend forever.

Q & A with the Bride:

What was the one thing about your venue that made you know it was the one?

The horse barn. I had said from the very beginning that I wanted to get married in a barn and it was the perfect combination of rustic elegance meets country.

Which three details from your wedding were your favorites?

My dress, it was the first one I tried on

The tree we were married under was full of wonderful fall colors

A last-minute sign that my dad and Richard made for the entrance to our venue.

If you could offer one piece of advice for other couples planning their wedding, what would it be?

Be flexible. No matter how much you plan, something will always go wrong but just embrace it.

Give us the one moment in your wedding day you can’t stop thinking about.

This is a tough one. it would have to be between when I saw my husband for the first time during our sneak peek or listening to all the toasts made by sweet friends and family. It meant the world to us to have all the ones we hold close to our hearts at our wedding.

We imagine Texas native Kelly Clarkson’s wedding to have a down-home and lively feel, with lots of nods to her home state. She already told People magazine that her fall nuptials will be full of yellow roses, a Texas favorite, and shared some details about her “sweetly damaged…rock ‘n roll” Vera Wang gown to E!. What other details might Kelly feature at her wedding? We took some guesses in the inspiration board below.

Q&A with the Bride:

What was the one thing about your venue that made you know it was the one?

It didn’t take long for either of us to decide that the Woodlands Resort and Conference Center would be the perfect place to get married when we walked outside on their forest deck to look at our ceremony location. The deck sits out over a lake with beautiful fountains and the scenery was so gorgeous we knew that the need for doing any decorating would be minimal. It was also a huge seller to us that the resort catered dinner, made our cakes, and much more included in our package to make our lives easier.

Which details from your wedding were your favorites?

Our three favorite details were taking pictures with the sunset after the ceremony, listening to our loved ones give toasts, and the non-stop dancing.

If you could offer one piece of advice for other couples planning their wedding, what would it be?

Our one piece of advice for other couples would be, if possible, investing in professionals was way more worth it than we realized. We can’t get over how much of a lifesaver it was to have the help of people that knew what they were doing. Thanks to the resort and our other vendors, the wedding day itself felt effortless.

Give us the one moment in your wedding day you can’t stop thinking about.

My favorite moment would be the exit. Brent carried me up a long flight of stairs out of the reception hall and everyone was screaming so enthusiastically waiting for us at our exit that we knew everyone had an excellent time.
