Q & A with the Bride:

1. What was the one thing about your venue that made you know it was the one?

I had my wedding at the beautiful St. John Neumann Catholic Church. I grew up going to the church when it was at another location. When I went to college, they built a new gorgeous church, which I alway knew I would be married at if I had a wedding in my hometown.

2. Which three details from your wedding were your favorites?

First, I gave my parents and husband’s parents hankerchiefs at the rehearsal dinner. My father-in-law’s read “Thank you for raising the perfect man for me,” my mother-in-law’s read “You raised with love a gracious man with whom I’ll share my life. He is lucky to be your son, and I am lucky to be his wife,” my father’s read “Thank you for walking by my sade, today and always” and my mother’s read “To dry your tears as you have always dried mine. Thank you for the wedding of my dreams. I love you.”

Secondly, we had a dessert table with various cakes, pies, cookies, etc. Each dessert was a favorite dessert of either one of my grandparents, Dustin’s grandparents or my maid of honor’s mother (Her mother died the October before from breast cancer). We had each of their pictures by their dessert.

Third, I loved all of our guests. We have such a wonderful family, who were all able to make it. We had the best wedding party, which just made the whole day so much fun as well as all of our guest that were at the reception to party! We just had so much fun at the reception, I remember someone saying at 11:30 p.m., “Are you guys going to leave?” We lost track of time, we were enjoying ourselves!

3. Give us the one moment from your wedding that you can’t stop thinking about.

That’s easy. The moment all the stress melted away. I was standing behind the church doors listening to the piano start to play “A Thousand Years” by Christina Perri. As soon as the singer started, the doors opened and although the aisle was way too long for me to make out Dustin’s face, I could tell immediately that he was crying by his body language. People were looking at me, but everyone had the sweetest faces watching Dustin. As I got closer, I lost it as well. I have only seen Dustin cry twice in our five years, and deep down, I knew all along he was going to cry at that moment. I just wasn’t prepared for how much it affected me. The last thing that is so vivid to me about that moment is we were both standing on the altar, as the priest was giving his opening remarks, with our backs to the audience passing a kleenex back and forth as we sniffled.

Q & A with the Bride:

What was the one thing about your venue that made you know it was the one?

We loved the classic/historic feel of the Chapel. We knew our pictures would look timeless.

What three (3) details from your wedding were your favorites?

1. Photographs

2. Wedding attire for the entire wedding party

3. Floral arrangements (specifically the pew balls in the Chapel)

Give us the one moment in your wedding day you can’t stop thinking about.

Our photographer suggested a “first look” moment. We really cherished our time together before the ceremony. It made the wedding day feel more intimate.

Q & A with the Bride:

Which three details from your wedding were your favorites?

1. The beautiful scenery that Legacy Farms provides

2. My flowers and table decorations

3. Our cakes were exactly what I asked for

If you could offer one piece of advice for other couples planning their wedding, what would it be?

As hard as it is, don’t stress over the little things.  Some things are going to happen that will be out of your control and it will benefit you more to just let them go because at the end of the day you are married to the love of your life.

Give us the one moment in your wedding day you cant stop thinking about.

Walking down the aisle.  I was so emotional that I couldn’t hold back the tears and the whole walk I looked into my husband’s eyes.

Q & A with the Bride:

What was the one thing about your venue that made you know it was the one?

I loved the Southern, historical feel of Carnton Plantation. The house is beautifully maintained and the grounds are gorgeous. I wanted my guests to have a true feel of Franklin, Tennessee.

Which three details from your wedding were your favorites?

The beaded sash added to my dress, the wicker-willow ball lighting, and the pops of green from the shutters, rocking chairs, and benches of the mansion.

If you could offer one piece of advice for other couples planning their wedding, what would it be?

While it may be stressful, enjoy this special time together. Be thankful for the help of your families!

Give us the one moment in your wedding day you can’t stop thinking about.

Our “first look” was incredibly special and a moment when time stopped and it was truly just the two of us. I will never forget the look on Hansel’s face when turned and saw me at the end of the porch and came running to me!

Q & A with the Bride:

1. What was the one thing about your venue that made you know it was the one?

The venue was so beautiful, picturesque and quaint. Also, CJ’s allowed us to have a wedding coordinator, who could organize things with us, considering we were from out- of-state.

2. Which three details from your wedding were your favorites?

1. Flowers

2. Gazebo

3. Chandeliers

3. Give us the one moment from your wedding day that you can’t stop thinking about.

Our favorite moment was under the gazebo when we, along with our preacher, bowed together while Kalin said a prayer asking for God’s blessing. It was so beautifully intimate, and we felt as though we were the only three people there.
