Catharine and Aaron were married at Anne Springs Close Greenway in Fort Mill, S.C. on June 22. The bride wore a v-neck lace wedding gown with capped sleeves, accessorized with her hair in a sideswept curly updo, while the groom wore a tan suit, accessorized with an orange tie. Bridesmaids donned navy blue dresses with illusion necklines and carried bouquets of roses, hydrangeas, and irises. Guests were greeted with a wooden sign that served as the itinerary for the evening. First up, the ceremony followed by dinner, games, music, and dancing. The newlyweds’ best advice? “To remember that it’s about family and friends getting together and not fretting about the little things,” Catharine said. “No one will care about the multiple courses of food or favors. They will remember how happy you both were, and they got to share that special moment with you.” Inside the barn, tables were decorated with lace runners, mason jar centerpieces, glitter chalkboard numbers, and thank-you notes at each place setting. Believe it or not, the red velvet cake was homemade too. Yum!

Jessica and Ryan were married at Old Wide Awake Plantation in Hollywood, S.C. on September 14. Rain showers passed, and skies cleared just minutes before the ceremony was to begin under the towering moss-draped oak trees overlooking Stono River. The bride walked down the aisle wearing a sweetheart fit ‘n’ flare wedding dress, accessorized with a lush bouquet of garden roses, ranunculuses, and greenery, while the groom stood there waiting in a tan three-piece suit, accessorized with a cotton boutonniere. “When the Plantation Singers began the ceremony with ‘This Little Light of Mine,’ a wave of emotion spread over me like none other I’d ever felt,” Jessica said. “I was awash with joy and love. And as they sang, I looked back and saw Ryan (though he could not see me) and was completely overwhelmed by the moment. My eyes flooded with tears. Without my father’s reassurance, I would have lost it.” The reception followed on the plantation’s porch where each table was decorated with a vintage postcard, antique set, and favor boxes filled with almonds and benne wafers. Atop the cake was two bunny rabbits!

Lindsay and Timothy were married in a traditional Roman Catholic ceremony at Saint Mary of the Annunciation followed by a tented reception at The Island House in Charleston, S.C. on October 12. These two fell in love while attending Clemson University (Fun fact: they were dorm neighbors), and even though they now live in Chicago, they wanted to say, “I do” where it all began. Lindsay wore a form-fitting mermaid wedding gown, while her bridesmaids wore silver dresses in different styles. Groomsmen were more than happy to pose with sunglasses in their gray three-piece suits. The reception was oh-so-romantic decorated with white linens, ivory and blush flowers, and lanterns. Guests enjoyed Southern fare, including a raw bar, shrimp and grits, and a signature cocktail, and the night wasn’t complete without a group picture of all the college alumni!

Kellie and Nick were married under an old willow tree at Creek Club I’On in Mt. Pleasant, S.C. on April 26. “The romantic, natural, and serene surroundings, including a beautiful sunset made it the perfect location for us to start our new lives together,” Kellie said. She wore a sweetheart ruffled Allure Bridals wedding gown, accessorized with a feather hairpin, while her groom (who resembles actor Gerard Butler, right?) wore a tan suit and sage green tie. “Our favorite moment is when our eyes met as Kellie walked down the aisle arm and arm with her father and seeing her soon-to-be husband waiting for her,” the newlyweds recalled. The reception site featured a wraparound porch with rocking chairs and handmade burlap pillows, perfect for their Southern charm theme. Tables were decorated with hydrangea centerpieces, engagement picture table names, and mason jar candles. “The sparkler sendoff was so exciting,” she said. “As guests cheered, clapped, and congratulated, . . . we were united as one, and our loved ones gave us so many best wishes and blessings for our marriage.”

Lauren and Michael were married in downtown Columbia, S.C. on December 29. After searching for the perfect urban vibe, they settled with 701 Whaley, a loft known for it’s high ceilings, concrete floors, and exposed brick walls. The bride wore a custom sweetheart a-line wedding gown, accessorized with a faux fur stole, rose gold drop diamond earrings, and Badgley Mischka peep-toe heels. Bridesmaids looked simple yet classic in their little black dresses, accessorized with emerald pashmina shawls. “My favorite moment of the day was when we had our first look,” Lauren said. “There was so much anticipation, and I was beginning to feel a little overwhelmed, but once I saw Michael, it was like none of that mattered. I was right where I wanted to be!” Following the traditional church ceremony, the reception began, and boy was it beautiful. Just look at those black and white striped linens, pomegranates at each place setting, chalkboard mural, and paper flower wall behind the cake!
