Our Q&A with the Bride:
What was the one thing about your venue that made you know it was the one?
Before I even met my prince charming, I always knew I wanted a wedding at a white country church and a red barn. It took one look at the barn and I knew it was the venue. It is the perfect venue for your dream country wedding.
Which three details from your wedding were your favorites?
It’s hard to narrow them down to just three. My three favorite details from my wedding would be our best man (my husband’s brother and a Marine) wearing his dress blues while walking down the aisle to “My Country ‘Tis of Thee,” the firework show at the end of the night and seeing all of my maid of honor and my work come together to make the perfect day! We worked so hard the year leading up to the wedding. Little details were the most important thing to me. It was definitely a DIY, Americana and country themed wedding.
Tell us about the one moment from your wedding day that you can’t stop thinking about.
I can’t stop thinking about the whole day. Everything was perfect and it was the happiest day of my life, marrying my best friend surrounded by everyone we love. It was a very hot day for an outside wedding and our guests were glowing with sweat, but the heat didn’t bother this bride!
Elvis, Sinatra, Marilyn, 50′s inspired, Big Band, many personal touches, red 54 cadilac, gorgeous full ball gown, Kris Allen performance (yes, as in the American Idol winner), Les Lankhorst – The Rat Pack is Back performance, special menu items, many old hollywood vintage touches – this wedding had it all!
About this shoot: “In the spirit of this beautiful season, swoon over this wintery wedding shoot with old world glam and even a rustic twist. So I will admit to daydreaming of every wedding shoot we have the opportunity to do, but this wintery wedding display at a farm north of Toronto holds a special spot in my heart! The remains of an old barn, is the perfect backdrop for a fabulous wintery display loaded with colour! Since I am from the beautiful and rugged northern Ontario, where winter means snow covered roads from Dec til at least March, its easy to see why this wedding shoot is reflective of who I am and what I love. Think beyond typical winter wedding decor with white branches and hanging snowflakes. Let the richness of red berries and snow covered cherries inspire you and remind you of the beauty of the season! A Faux fur shade and artistic arrangement of orchids, roses, berries and even purple kale create a glamorous centerpiece.” ~Rachel, Rachel A. Clingen Wedding Design
Meghan and Kevin had a “destination” wedding at Clifty Falls State Park in Madison, Indiana. Meghan shared her mother’s wedding anniversary date, and dedicated her bouquet to her mother. The wedding planner made centerpieces out of empty frames and various glass and it was beautiful. The broach and bracelets were heirlooms. The ceremony overlooked the Clifty Falls state park. Vintage, rustic and modern in one.
