Emmy and Brian were married at the Greystone at Piedmont Park in Atlanta, Ga. on April 26. “It was a place we spent a lot of time when we started dating,” Emmy said. “Brian and I used to love walking there to watch the dogs and attend concerts. When we found out they had venues in the park, we knew we wanted to add ‘the place we got married’ to the list of memories made there.” The bride wore a mermaid wedding gown with a jeweled shoulder and flutter cap sleeve, accessorized with a birdcage veil, while the groom wore a three-piece black suit, accessorized with a bow tie. Bridesmaids wore long green chiffon dresses and carried bouquets of tulips, hydrangeas, and berries. Guests were asked to grab a pair of sunglasses to fight against the glaring sun during the outdoor ceremony.  Inside the the reception space, known for it’s original granite walls, tables were decorated with mix ‘n’ matched vases and vessels, vintage books, and votive candles. In lieu of a traditional guest book, a globe was marked with all the places they should travel together too. The newlyweds’ favorite moments? “Our wedding party dance to ‘The Evolution of Hip Hop’ that opened the reception,” she said. “The views of the city at sunset, and the amazingly delicious food and cake.”

Bridesmaids wore purple short one-shoulder chiffon dresses and carried bouquets of roses, dahlias, and daisies. The ceremony and reception both took place inside the ballroom. Following the lighting of the unity candle, it was official. The newlyweds made their grand entrance down a sweeping staircase into a room of grand marble columns soaring high above guests. Escort cards were attached to mini elephants (a nod to the Asian culture), tables were decorated with floating candle centerpieces, and signature “Carolina on my Mind” drinks were served. The best part of the night? Dancing to Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin,’ which was a total crowd pleaser.

Meghan and Maarten were married at Studio 1342 in Los Angeles, Calif. on August 3. “We loved the quirkiness and uniqueness,” Meghan said. “We really wanted a place that reflected our style and that would allow us the freedom to bring in our own vendors and personal touches.” Almost all the decorations were handmade! From the outdoor ceremony paper heart backdrop to the button flower centerpieces in chalkboard recycled wine bottles. They even wrote the script together. “We kept some of the structure the same as a traditional ceremony, but we incorporated fun elements, such as a last unmarried kiss before we exchanged vows and rings.” Guests loved the intimate vibe of the reception — a disco ball and bunting banners hung from the loft’s ceiling, well wishes decorated a tree, and a delectable dessert display featured multiple cakes, cake pops, pies, and M & M’s. The newlywed’s best advice? “It is a day that’s meant for you to create together and share with those closest to you,” she said.

Alisa and Allan were married at Queens Botanical Garden in Flushing, N.Y. on June 15. “Allan wanted to have our wedding close to our home in Queens,” Alisa said. “I really wanted the ceremony to be outdoors and to have the reception at the same location as the ceremony. The wedding garden in the Queens Botanical Garden was the perfect oasis but was close enough to hotels and transit for our guests.” She wore a tea-length wedding dress with an illusion neckline, accessorized with a birdcage veil, while the groom wore a gray suit with a cap. The couple’s favorite details? “Exchanging our vows and hearing our officiant read the words we’d written about what marriage means to us,” she said. The tented reception followed with the newlyweds first dance to “Rainbow Connection” by the Muppets. Tables were decorated with antique blue mason jars, purple roses and hydrangeas, and the cake featured two peas in a pod!

Katie and Michael were married at Lake Mohawk Country Club in Sparta, N.J. on October 12. “We knew we wanted our wedding to be close to the water,” Katie said. “We fell in love with the boardwalk overlooking the [lake], in addition to the reception room with the high ceiling and exposed beams. It was just picturesque.” She looked beautiful in her sweetheart lace wedding gown, accessorized with a wildflower bouquet. Did you check out her updo? It has a braid! The groom wore a pinstripe gray suit, accessorized with a patterned tie. After writing and saying their own vows, the two were officially pronounced husband and wife.
