Mandy and Allen were married at a private lakeside residence in Eagle Mountain Lake, Texas on May 18. “The landscape was absolutely gorgeous with trees covering the entire front half of the property,” Mandy said. “We both wanted an outdoor spring wedding, so with such a stunning layout, we knew this was the perfect place for us.” Coming up with inspiration was the easy part! They both love the show MadMen and aviation. So, a 1960s mod travel-theme it was. The bride wore a v-neck lace fit ‘n’ flare wedding gown, accessorized with a statement necklace and shoulder-length veil, while the groom wore a white button-up shirt, black pants, and suspenders, accessorized with a bow tie. Bridesmaids wore flamboyant red off-the-shoulder dress and white gloves. The cutest attendants were the flower girls and ring bearer, who played the part of stewardesses and a pilot, respectively! As guests arrived, they were greeted with multiple destination posters from Los Angeles to London and vintage suitcases. “We decided to exchange our vows privately before the ceremony,” Allen said. “The entire day leading up to that was chaotic and filled with last minute tasks. The moment I turned around and saw her standing there, all the stress was washed away and everything felt completely right.” Plus, the reception decor featured patterned table runners, wooden airplanes, and mint vases and vessels. Music was played on a turntable with lots of oldie tunes from records, postcards served as the guest book, and even vegan-friendly food was prepared. The dessert display included multiple cakes, but that one that stood out most was the one topped with a R2D2 and Ariel from The Little Mermaid.
From the Photographer: “oh, I am so in love with this wedding! I was overwhelmed with joy and love during this wedding and when I look at these pictures. This shabby chic wedding was just so fabulous and it was an honor to witness all the love. The wedding was at the gorgeous Clark Gardens and all of the vintage decor was gathered by the bride!”-Powell Pictures

From Powell Pictures: “We started this engagement session off in their super chic and hip little house in Ft. Worth. Amy has decorated their home with vintage items passed down from family members and awesome finds from local vendors and artisans. It always excites me to walk through their home and see so many interesting and creative decor. So when it came time to plan for their engagement session, I knew we had to start in their cozy home. After chai tea and a few shots in their home and with three well trained dogs we headed off into downtown Ft. Worth to some of Tim and Amy’s special places.”
