Shannon and Michael were married in a traditional church ceremony at Humprey Memorial followed by a reception at The Delafield Hotel in Delafield, Wis. on February 22. “Michael and I loved the antique feel, the quaintness, and the elegance of this boutique hotel, which is nestled in the cutest town,” Shannon said. “Erin, who worked with us, made us feel like we were totally in control of our wedding and presented us with many options. We knew it was the one because of her thoughtfulness.” The bride wore a strapless sweetheart a-line wedding gown with a ruched bodice and tulle skirt, accessorized with her hair down in loose curls, wreath, faux fur coat, and a pair of snow boots, while the groom wore a light gray suit, accessorized with a matching herringbone-patterned tie and pocket square. Bridesmaids wore mix ‘n’ matched short and long pink dresses in various necklines, accessorized with cardigans, and carried bouquets of roses, anemones, and pine cones. Before the ceremony, the couple opted for a first look. “We had an outdoor photo shoot at Lapham Peak,” she said. “The colors of our wedding looked beautiful against the snowy background.” The ceremony took place at on Carroll University’s campus. Guests sat in wooden pews as the exchanging of vows (and custom-made rose gold rings) were sealed with a kiss, it was official! The reception began shortly thereafter in the ballroom. Tables were decorated with white linens, ivory napkins, mason jar centerpieces atop wooden tree slices, animal prints such as rabbit, bear, and hummingbird, and votive candles, surrounded by upholstered chairs. “There was live pine trees that Michael installed in the ballroom of the hotel,” Shannon said. “The entire venue smelled like a forest, which was perfect because we were going for a ‘winter woodland-themed’ wedding.” Two mini cakes were cut and served for dessert concluding dinner, but there was also cupcakes too. “During our first dance, Michael kept spinning me around the dance floor, and it was perfect,” she said. The newlyweds’ best advice? “Make your wedding about YOU two and incorporate unique characteristics that really show off both your personalities,” Shannon said. “Almost all of our guests commented ‘this wedding is totally you.'”
Katelyn and Matt were married at Chicago Illuminating Company in Chicago, Ill. on September 6. “When Matt and I walked into our venue for the first time, both of our hearts started pounding,” Katelyn said. “The venue was modern and nontraditional but very elegant. I think we just knew it was the right venue for us, but the fact that we could have everything on sight, and there was a gorgeous, ivy courtyard definitely helped.” The bride wore a sweetheart lace mermaid wedding gown with a keyhole back, accessorized with her hair in an updo, fingertip-length veil, jeweled sash, and a pair of Badgley Mischka open-toe high heels, while the groom wore a black suit, accessorized with a bow tie. “My veil was previously worn by two of my cousinss, who were also bridesmaids,” she said. “And around my bouquet, I carried a charm with a picture of my nana and pop pop, who were nable to be there with us on the wedding day.” Bridesmaids wore long gray one-shoulder chiffon dresses and carried bouquets of roses, ranuncluses, hydrangeas, silver brunia balls, and dusty miller. Before the ceremony, the couple did not opt for a first look. “I decided do to one with my dad,” Katelyn said. “My dad and I have been very close, and I knew it would be very emotional for both of us when he saw me for the first time,” she said. “For me, seeing his face when he walked into the room and saw his ‘little girl’ as a bride was one of the best moments of the day.” Guests were greeted inside the loft with ceiling heights ranging from 15 feet to 50 feet. Aisles were lined with floating candles in staggered vases, tall altar arrangements, and fabric delicately draped across the windows for the backdrop. “The other moment I can’t stop thinking about is coming around the corner and seeing Matt for the first time as I walked down the aisle,” Katelyn said. “It immediately felt like we were the only two people in the room. I couldn’t stop smiling and barely kept myself from crying! After months of planning and hours of getting ready, it was such a rush of emotions to see him and finally get to marry him.” Once the exchanging of vows were sealed with a kiss, it was official! Cocktail hour began as the entire wedding party wandered outside to take portraits by Lake Michigan. The reception followed shortly thereafter. Tables were decorated with white linens, gray napkins, mercury glass centerpieces, and votive candles, surrounded by chiavari chairs. After dinner, a three-tiered buttercream-frosted cake was cut and served. Bonus: a late-night snack from The Slide Ride food truck. The newlyweds’ best advice? “During the reception, take a moment to step back with your new spouse and look around,” she said. “Look at all your hard work you put into planning this amazing day and look at all the people, who have come to celebrate you two and love you both.”
Katie and Will were married at the Southport Community Building in Southport, N.C. on March 29. The bride wore a strapless sweetheart fit ‘n’ flare wedding gown with a ruched bodice, accessorized with her hair half-up/half-down in loose curls, fingertip-length veil, and a pair of Badgley Mischka peep-toe high heels, while the groom wore a black suit, accessorized with a striped tie. Bridesmaids wore long one-shoulder navy blue satin dresses and carried bouquets of hydrangeas, ranunculuses, and berries. The ceremony took place at half past 5 o’clock inside the main hall with scenic views overlooking the banks of the Cape Fear River. Only close family and friends sat in folding padded chairs, aisles lined with lanterns and an altar draped with garland, to witness the exchanging of vows. Once it was sealed with a kiss, it was official! Cocktail hour began outside on the porch with signature sweet teas, spritzed with lemon and lime slices, followed by the reception shortly thereafter. Tables were decorated with white linens, chevron runners, glass centerpieces, and lots of monograms, even on napkins. Next to the traditonal guest book, where everyone was encouraged to write a message, there was pictures framed of the couple throughout their entire relationship. The favors? Coral wine bottle stoppers! An assortment of desserts were served concluding dinner — bite-sized pieces of cheesecake and choclated-covered strawberries. At the end of the night, they exited amongst a sea of sparklers.
Halona and Robert were married at the Four Seasons Hotel in Las Vegas, Nev. on July 13. “The Four Seasons is very private, and they don’t have a casino inside the hotel,” Halona said. “But what made me know this was the perfect venue is there highly-rated staff and wedding coordinators. They are definitely five-star and are amazing at making sure you have the wedding of your dreams.” The bride wore a strapless tulle fit ‘n’ flare wedding gown, accessorized with her hair half-up/half-down in loose curls, fingertip-length veil, jeweled sash, and pair of Badgley Mischka peep-toe high heels, while the groom wore a black tuxedo, accessorized with a matching bow tie and vest. Bridesmaids wore long pink chiffon dresses and carried bouquets of roses and hydrangeas. “We had rehearsed in an empty room, and I had not seen my decor yet,” she said. “So, the moment when the doors opened to the ceremony and reception were beyond breathtaking and a moment I will never forget.” Aisles were lined with floating candles in glass pillars to create a romantic ambience, and a unity candle was placed at the altar in loving memory of a lost one. It said, “This light shines as a symbol of a life and love remembered.” Once the vows were sealed with a kiss, it was official! Not a single guest could resist taking a snapshot during the recessional. They found their seats via a mirror featuring assignments. Tables were decorated with rosette linens, tall candelabra centerpieces, glitter numbers, and crystal votive candles. “The food was delicious,” Halona said. Not to mention the five-tiered cake was suspended hanging from the ceiling! Extra entertainment, outside of the dance floor, was a photo booth complete with props. The newlyweds’ best advice? “Find an wedding planner that knows different venues and can see your vision miles away,” she said. “Our wedding was a destination wedding, and I read a lot of reviews before I chose Andrea Eppolito to coordinate my wedding. When I say she is great at what she does, I mean it. I was totally blown away . . . it was everything I had dreamed of and more.”
Sarah and Corey were married at The Humphreys Estate in Temecula, Calif. on June 21. The bride wore a strapless straight across-neckline ball gown with a lace bodice and ruffled skirt, accessorized with her hair down in loose curls, floor-length veil, satin sash, and a pair of flats, while the groom wore a black tuxedo, accessorized with a bow tie. Bridesmaids wore long neutral chiffon dresses and carried bouquets of roses and hydrangeas. Guests were greeted with plenty of chalkboard signs that said, “So this is the miracle that we’ve been dreaming of. So this is love,” “Once in a while, in the middle of an ordinary life, love gives us a fairy tale,” and “As two families become one, choose a seat not a side.” Before the ceremony, the couple opted for a first look. Fun fact: Corey was blindfolded! It took place in the garden in front of a raised gazebo. A tent was placed overhead for shade. To symbolize their unity, they even chose to combine sand. Once the license was signed, sealed, and delivered to the officiant, it was bona fide. Cocktail hour began around the pool followed by the reception. Tables were decorated with pink rosette linens, mercury glass votives and vases, gold charger plates, and picture numbers from throughout their entire relationship. In lieu of a traditional guest book, everyone was asked to share a message next to a typewriter. The first one was from the newlyweds, “It means the world to us that you are here today. Please sign our guestbook so we can treasure the memories we made here!” After dinner, the three-tiered square cake was cut and candy bar opened for grabs. It featured yogurt-covered pretzels, licorice, sour patch kids, gummy bears, lollipops, and more. At the end of the night, they exited amongst a sea of sparklers and were off to their honeymoon.
