Q & A with the Bride:
What was the one thing about your venue that made you know it was the one?
Growing up in Oakland the Zoo has always held a special place in recalling childhood memories. The Snow Building has amazing views of the Bay Area. Since we are currently living in Washington DC I wanted to highlight and represent my hometown as much as possible because it reflects so strongly the person I am and the Snow Building reflected this.
Give us the one moment from your wedding that you can’t stop thinking about.
My husband would say the ice cream or not going back for a second plate of tacos. But what I think what it comes down to is our love that were able to demonstrate to our friends and family through the personal touches throughout the day. Even nearly 6 months later people still comment to us how well the day represented us.
If you could offer one piece of advice for other couples planning their wedding, what would it be?
We began the process by having an honest discussion of the details that were most important given budget, timeline, and feasibility. And having that as a framework we were able to refer back if we became sidetracked along the way. My husband and I had weekly check in sessions to see what was on the schedule for this week and discussing how everything was progressing. This allowed us to have a specific time for wedding related items rather than a lot of stressed out communication. It helped us keep focused on the big picture and in the end we would be married. And that is the most important detail to remember.
