Halona and Robert were married at the Four Seasons Hotel in Las Vegas, Nev. on July 13. “The Four Seasons is very private, and they don’t have a casino inside the hotel,” Halona said. “But what made me know this was the perfect venue is there highly-rated staff and wedding coordinators. They are definitely five-star and are amazing at making sure you have the wedding of your dreams.” The bride wore a strapless tulle fit ‘n’ flare wedding gown, accessorized with her hair half-up/half-down in loose curls, fingertip-length veil, jeweled sash, and pair of Badgley Mischka peep-toe high heels, while the groom wore a black tuxedo, accessorized with a matching bow tie and vest. Bridesmaids wore long pink chiffon dresses and carried bouquets of roses and hydrangeas. “We had rehearsed in an empty room, and I had not seen my decor yet,” she said. “So, the moment when the doors opened to the ceremony and reception were beyond breathtaking and a moment I will never forget.” Aisles were lined with floating candles in glass pillars to create a romantic ambience, and a unity candle was placed at the altar in loving memory of a lost one. It said, “This light shines as a symbol of a life and love remembered.” Once the vows were sealed with a kiss, it was official! Not a single guest could resist taking a snapshot during the recessional. They found their seats via a mirror featuring assignments. Tables were decorated with rosette linens, tall candelabra centerpieces, glitter numbers, and crystal votive candles. “The food was delicious,” Halona said. Not to mention the five-tiered cake was suspended hanging from the ceiling! Extra entertainment, outside of the dance floor, was a photo booth complete with props. The newlyweds’ best advice? “Find an wedding planner that knows different venues and can see your vision miles away,” she said. “Our wedding was a destination wedding, and I read a lot of reviews before I chose Andrea Eppolito to coordinate my wedding. When I say she is great at what she does, I mean it. I was totally blown away . . . it was everything I had dreamed of and more.”
Stephanie and Mark were married at the Historic Fifth Street School in Las Vegas, Nev. on September 21. “I had my heart set on another venue,” Stephanie said. “We threw this one in mostly because my mom had gone to school there when it was the only elementary school in town, and we wanted to check out the renovation. When we walked in I teared up, feeling like this was absolutely the place. But I had been so obsessed with my first choice, I felt like we couldn’t commit to the school yet. When we walked back into the other place, neither of us felt anything. It was just a place. We looked at each other and said, ‘Historic Fifth Street School it is.'” The bride wore an a-line tulle wedding gown with a satin halter bodice, while the groom wore a dark gray vest, white button-up shirt, and khaki pants. Before the evening ceremony, the couple opted for a first look. “I remember there were happy tears and mostly laughter,” she said. “The ceremony involved all of our family and friends, allowing people to get up and give advice or tell stories to show their support of our union. It was important to us to have them be a part of our wedding.” Following, a “this way to more food and cool breezes” sign directed guests to the reception decorated with wooden tables, turquoise runners, and floating candle centerpieces with yellow pincushion proteas. “Bistro lights were the only detail I insisted on,” Stephanie said. “The space practically demanded it.” Dinner and dancing continued throughout the night, even a photo booth provided some entertainment too! The favors? A deck of playing cards. How fun is that?
Caity and Bryan were married at the Las Vegas Country Club in Las Vegas, Nev. on April 4. “As soon as I walked out onto the terrace, I knew it was the one,” Caity said. “The view, the stained concrete, and the amazing backdrop!” The bride wore a lace mermaid wedding gown with a ruffled skirt, accessorized with her hair half-up/half-down in loose curls, while the groom wore a tan vest and pants, blue bow tie, and black Converse tennis shoes. Bridesmaid dresses were handmade! Not to mention they’re oh-so elegant. Guests choose a seat not a side when they arrived to the ceremony. “We really wanted a neutral and natural look, so we went with a lot of champagne and ivory with a touch of yellow,” she said. “The sunflowers I had my florist put down the aisle made the perfect frame for my husband and I ” to say our “I do’s.” Plenty of lawn games were played during cocktail hour. “My biggest fear was everyone getting bored or being upset while we were taking pictures . . . we provided giant Jenga, corn hole, and a photobooth,” Caity said. Props such as lips, mustaches, heart-shaped sunglasses, and “Run!” and “Good Luck!” quote boxes were absolute favorites. The outdoor reception twinkled with a chandelier and string lights overhead, tables decorated with mason jar centerpieces, and a mini bundt cake was served instead of a traditional tiered one.
From the Bride: “Adam and I envisioned our wedding to be modern and natural (sustainable). Adam and I are both in the industry of Landscape Architecture, and the whole idea of sustainability was something that truly mattered to us. Aesthetically we’ve always been attracted to modern designs that have a sense of comfort. Simple and elegance was our goal. We envisioned our day do have yellow and pewter as our main colors. We used the two colors all throughout our wedding invitation, cupcakes, programs, and stationary. We didn’t want to overdo the yellow, so we mixed in some shades of green or grey greens with the use of our plant materials. Adam and I love succulents, and we thought it was the perfect material and color palette to go with our color theme. In going along with the theme of sustainability, we made sure that our succulent centerpieces were a “living” centerpiece, that our guest could bring home. We designed the planter boxes and the cake stand and had Adam’s best man build all the custom pieces. We selected four different wedding favors that we felt would not be wasteful (re-useable bags, a blend of our favorite tea, our favorite bath bombs, and two different types of “grow-your-own” herbs). We designed our own website, wedding programs, table callouts, cake/cupcake layout as well as the guest place cards. We chose Lake Tahoe because we wanted a destination wedding that was near the water and would provide our guests with lots of activities throughout the weekend. The view of the lake and contemporary architecture of Edgewood was perfect for our theme because of the natural wood beams and modern floor to ceiling windows.”
