Dress Designers (from left to right): Enzoani and Mon Cheri
If you haven’t heard by now, Avril Lavigne is engaged to Nickelback singer Chad Kroeger! Since they’ve been dating for only six months, we’ve come up with some dress ideas for Avril if she decides to get married any sooner than that! Here’s what we know: Avril seems to gravitate towards the gothic chic and unpredictable looks. After all, she is a punk rock singer and songwriter. So perhaps she’d like a strapless, black chiffon fit-n-flare dress with matching black converse tennis shoes. Or maybe she’ll go for a white halter, organza cage gown with a messy updo.
EXCLUSIVE UPDATE:
Our friends over at Hayley Paige have just sent over a sketch they did for Avril Lavigne’s wedding gown, fitting the description she gave Perez Hilton on what she envisions wearing for the big day.

Rumor had it, Adele secretly got married to her fiance Simon Konecki last week, but the singer denied reports saying in a tweet, “I’m not married…Zzzzzzz.” If and when she decides to get married officially, we’ve picked some dresses we thought she might wear. Here’s what we know: Adele seems to gravitate towards edgy but feminine looks. So perhaps she’d like a strapless, lace and tulle ballerina tea-length dress with black accessories, which is her go-to color! And of course, red lipstick. Or maybe she’ll go for a more form-fitting look like a sleeveless, mermaid lace dress with beaded embroidery.

Now that you’ve seen some of the best looks on the runway, here’s a look at the overall trends. There were some obvious ones like lace and tulle dresses, and then some more subtle detailing such as peplums and modesty. Here’s Part I of WeddingWire’s Bridal Market Trend Report:
Tulle
Brides looking for that walking on a cloud feeling will have no shortage of wedding dresses made partly or completely of tulle. From full ball gown skirts to pleated bodices, designers showed wedding dresses in a variety of silhouettes with this soft and delicate fabric.

Mon Cheri designs prom dresses, pageant dresses, evening gowns and of course wedding dresses. There are several wedding gown lines under the Mon Cheri label: Mon Cheri Bridals, Sophia Tolli, Destinations by Mon Cheri and debuting for Fall 2011 is Tony Bowls. Tony is well respected, and quite popular, as a prom and pageant dress designer. Brides who have worn a dress by Tony in the past are sure to love his new wedding dress collection.
Since I’m only reporting on one fabulous dress from each line, make sure to check out the rest of the dresses in each collection in the WeddingWire dress gallery.
Mon Cheri Bridals: The neckline of this two-piece wedding dress caught my eye. A number of designers showed a strapless neckline where one side was raised higher than the other. So how is this a two-piece dress? The lace top and belt are removable to reveal a sexy strapless A-line gown. And if you’re not comfortable in strapless you can add spaghetti straps or a halter neckline.
