Rosie and Sam were married at the Commander’s Mansion followed by a reception at China Pearl Restaurant in Boston, Mass. on November 9. “We fell in love with how intimate and beautiful it was,” Rosie said. “Every room had romantic details and perfect for pictures.” The bride wore a strapless sweetheart satin mermaid wedding gown, accessorized with her hair in a sideswept ponytail, statement necklace, and a pair of Prada high heels, while the groom wore a three-piece gray suit, accessorized with a bow tie. Bridesmaids wore short and long netural chiffon dresses and carried bouquets of roses, balsa wood, and silver brunia balls. “While walking down the aisle, all I could see was my husband and tears just started to well up,” she said. “Plus, reading our vows in front of our close family and friends too.” During the recessional, bubbles were even blown! “My maid of honor and husband both got me a plate of food to eat in between taking impromptu portraits in the city and greeting guests at the reception,” Rosie said. Not only was there a Chinese dragon dance but also a choreographed first dance performed by the duo. Tables were decorated with white linens, red napkins, wooden yarn numbers, and ladybugs, which served double-duty as favors, at each place setting. They symbolize good luck. In lieu of a traditional guest book, everyone was encouraged to take a heart and leave a note for them to remember their special day by. A mini cake, topped with an exact figurine replicas, was served as well as bite-sized macarons. The newlyweds’ best advice? “Soak in all the love and joy and embrace the unexpected,” she said.

Tori and Wade were married at The Duncan House in Tavares, Fla. on March 2. “We were looking for a venue that would do most of the talking for us,” Tori said. “The Duncan House, a 1920’s home, situated on Lake Dora, with it’s towering old oaks, made us feel transported to a different time. We took a weekend trip to Tavares and stayed the night there 18 months before our wedding. We knew immediately that it was the kind of place we wnated to share with our family and friends. The kind of place we wanted preserved in our memories forever.” The bride wore a ruched fit ‘n’ flare wedding gown, accessorized with her short hair down in loose curls and a floor-length veil, while the groom wore black tuxedo, accessorized with a bow tie. Bridesmaids wore long satin coral dresses in various necklines and carried bouquets of roses, ranunculuses, ferns, and seeded eucalyptus. “A cold front came through the weekend of our outdoor wedding, dropping the temperatures down to a record 30 degrees,” she said. “The entire bridal party walked a couple of blocks to this nearby train station for photos, but it was so cold and windy, we just huddled together on the tracks to keep warm! We were like, this isn’t what we planned at all, but it sure is fun.” Before the ceremony, there was a grand entrace. “My dad has a 1926 Model T, and he drove me right up to the aisle,” Tori said. “Rather than have the bridesmaids escorted by a groomsmen, we asked each of our attendants to be walked down by their families or significant other. Wade even walked in carrying our, then 7-month old daughter, Juliet.” The reception followed afterwards in the backyard. Tables were decorated with white linens, navy blue chevron runners, gold charger plates, and candelabras. If dinner wasn’t enough, dessert was for sure! “Wade and I are HUGE doughnut fans,” she said. “When we first visited, we stopped at a little place on Hwy. 27 called Donut King. We knew that we had to have a donut tower at the wedding. It was a big hit.” Dancing was performed on wooden checkered floor underneath string lights and for extra entertainment, they played the shoe game too. The newlyweds’ best advice? “Get started early, prioritize, and hire a wedding planner, if you can budget it,” Tori said. “Being in the industry, myself for many years, I thought I could handle it all, but thank goodness for Kehrin at Jet Set Wed. There were so many details the day-of the wedding that I could not have possibly done myself or assigned a family member to do. Knowing that I had a professional doing it all for me allowed me to relax (a little).”

Cori and Kyle were married at Rugby Grange in Fletcher, N.C. on June 14. Cori’s background in architecture and design played a large part in the choice of location. “I fell in love with the house,” Cori said. “I have a special place in my heart for old homes…there was so much detail, and character, and just an overall warmth about it. The house actually sits on about 300 acres of old growth forests, so it felt secluded and intimate, which is what we wanted.” The bride stunned in a strapless lace embroided gown with an asymmetrical mermaid skirt and floral sash. She wore her hair in an updo adorned with a flower. She carried a bouquet of white blooms and greenery. Her ‘maids opted for floor-length strapless gowns in various shades of gray and slate blue. The groom and his men looked handsome in black suits. The groom separated himself from the bunch by wearing a gray tie instead of black. “My husband and I wanted to pray together before the ceremony,” Cori said.”This was really important to us and helped us get some jitters out! It was such a special moment with just he and I.” The 140 guests gathered outside the house to watch Cori and Kyle tie the knot. Cori’s bouquet had a few special momentos that she carried down the aisle. “I had pictures of three of my Grandmothers and my nephew attached to my bouquet,” Cori said.”They have all passed away, and this was just something sentimental to me to have them there on our special day.” A reception was held under a white tent following the ceremony. Guests enjoyed dinner, dancing, and lawn games such as corn hole. There were even bubbles and other trinkets for guests of the younger age to enjoy. The couple offered a display of various cakes, including white and chocolate frosted. Cori hopes that other couples have as much fun during the planning process as she did. “I really tried to not stress, and to enjoy the wedding planning process. It is such a special and exciting time, and you should take time to enjoy it!”

Classic Black-Tie Fall Park Wedding in Florida

Merri and Peter traveled all the way from New York City for their destination wedding at Phillippi Estate Park in Sarasota, Fla. on October 26.  The bride wore a sweetheart drop-waisted wedding gown accented with crystal beading, while the groom wore a black suit and bow tie. Bridesmaids wore mix ‘n’ matched short and long dresses in various shades from blush to beige and champagne to gold. Guests were greeted at the Edson Keith Mansion’s property with a Brooklyn Brewery biergarten welcome area, complete with local brews, lagers, ales, and IPA’s, but were soon thereafter advised to take a seat underneath the moss-draped oak tree as it got closer to sunset. Notice the newlyweds’ reaction once they were announced husband and wife? Priceless. The reception followed inside the sunroom decorated with silver vase centerpieces and wine bottle table numbers and lit with chandeliers. The dessert display featured six Momofuko Milk Bar wedding cakes that were flown in! Yes, that’s right. No one could resist those unique flavors of banana, pretzel, pineapple upside down, and chocolate chip.

Christian and Evan were married at Newhall Mansion in Piru, Calif. on April 5. “It took our breathes away the first time we saw it!” Christian said. The bride wore a sweetheart drop-waisted trumpet wedding gown, accessorized with her hair half-up/half-down in loose curls, while the groom wore a dark gray suit, accessorized with a black tie. Since they wanted to stick to their pink, gold, and hint of turquoise color scheme, bridesmaids wore satin pink dresses and carried peony, rose, and anemone bouquets. Notice the “something blue” brooch on Christian’s bouquet? “Everyone loves the little details,” she said. “It was my favorite thing about our wedding.” Guests were greeted with a chalkboard sign that said, “Choose a seat, not a side. We’re all family once the knot is tied.” The couple said their “I do’s” under a giant oak tree draped in white fabric. The reception followed with dinner and dancing on stage with the band, which just so happened to be the highlight of the night. And no one left on an empty stomach because Krispy Kreme doughnuts were served as late night snacks. Yum!
