We asked Angela Encarnación, Director of Sales at Breathless Punta Cana Resort & Spa to share her top tips for planning a destination bachelorette party!
What are some of the benefits of hosting a destination bachelorette party, as opposed to having one in your hometown?
Bachelorette parties are meant to be a final hurrah for the bride-to-be as a single lady with her best girlfriends. Making a trip out of it makes it a more memorable event – rather than just another night on the town.
How should a wedding party and bride select a destination? What are some factors to consider?
When choosing a destination, it’s important to pick a location that’s a convenient flight for the attendees. You don’t want to spend half the trip travelling. Then you want to be sure that the location has something for everyone. At Breathless Punta Cana for example, guests can enjoy gourmet dining, spa, watersports, relaxing by the pool or on the beach, nightlife, adventure etc.
How much should a bride be involved with the planning?
The planning is typically done by the bridesmaids, but usually the bride has a hand in choosing the location/destination as well as when the event will occur. That’s the beauty of choosing a resort for a bachelorette party – especially one where everything is included. There is little planning to do, just book your flight and stay and get ready for an amazing time.

Newlyweds looking for an unforgettable winter honeymoon should look no further than Breckenridge, Colorado. Located about 80 miles from Denver, this historic mining town offers the perfect blend of yesterday and today, from rustic saloons and mining tours to ultra-modern resorts and chic restaurants.
But perhaps it’s also the first-rate outdoor activities that make Breckenridge one of North America’s most magnificent winter destinations. Whether downhill skiing, snowmobiling, or a romantic sleigh ride is on your agenda, bank on Breckenridge for an ultimate winter getaway.
Breckenridge on Foot
Breckenridge is a terrific destination to explore on foot. In fact, the town of 4,540 features a National Historic District that includes more than 200 historic buildings, many of which date back to the late 19th century. Today, most of the structures have been turned into pleasant restaurants, shops, and museums – all of which contribute towards a perfect honeymoon day filled with new discoveries.
After visiting some of the town’s iconic structures along Main St. and Lincoln Avenue, make your next detour to the Breckenridge Arts District. Don’t miss the Riverwalk Performing Arts Center or the Backstage Theatre. Both are home to live music, performances, and a number of cultural events throughout the year.
When your feet have had enough walking for the week, head to one of the region’s notable spas for a revitalizing body treatment. Blue Sage Spa is conveniently located downtown and offers a wide variety of styles, including couples’ treatments and chocolate therapy.
Planning your honeymoon is fun, but it is a large task. The current state of the economy may have many of you changing international travel plans to stay a little closer to home and save a few dollars. Well, lucky for you, Andrew Harper the ultimate authority on luxury travel, is sharing his list for US hotels with the best views. The top picks include the view of Diamond Head from Halekulani in Honolulu and the view of Central Park from The Carlyle in New York City.
I think I would be happy at either of these locations! Good luck planning and safe travels!
