The most popular reason to take engagement photos is for your save-the-dates. But, it’s also a great way to get comfortable in front of the camera with your wedding photographer and see how your photographer operates. (Think of it as a test run.) Trust your photographer to bring out you and your fiances’ personalities in a creative way. So, when it comes time to introduce yourselves to your guests, why not choose one of these 5 unique engagement session locations:
1. Carnival
Still little kids at heart? Relive your childhood by spending an afternoon at a carnival. Play games, ride the carousel, eat cotton candy and maybe win a prize or two!

Shannon & Sean
Engagement Session
From the Photographer: “A pumpkin patch, a golden sunset, fall leaves, and a beautiful couple – what more could a fall-loving photographer want? Shannon and Sean’s favourite season is fall, their favourite holiday is Halloween, so it was only natural that we held their engagement session at the Laity Pumpkin farm in beautiful British Columbia. We also shot in a nearby field at sunset, and Shannon changed into a prairie-inspired mini dress with brown, buckled, high-heeled boots. Adorable! Sean proposed to Shannon on a US roadtrip – he dropped to one knee on an Oregon pier overlooking a lighthouse! Their elegant 2012 wedding will be held at the luxurious Swan-e-set.” -Alexandra Hunt Photography

Joanne & Theo
Engagement Session | June 2011
Fort Langley, British Columbia
From the Photographer: “Joanne and Theo are huge thrift store shoppers! They love to spend their weekends together travelling from store to store. They incorporated their love for this into their session! Joanne brought a roll along suitcase full of clothing changes, jewelery options, and all sorts of fun little props! They are such a quirky couple who are so in love. They laughed their entire session!” - Justine Russo Photography
