If you’re having an engagement party, you’re probably scouring your closet, the mall, or your favorite shopping websites for an appropriate outfit. Depending on your engagement party’s venue and theme, there are several different types of ensembles you could wear, but we think the short, white dress is a safe bet. The four (brand-new!) dresses pictured above are some of our favorites.
Jim Hjelm: We love this style for an engagement fete at your family’s favorite restaurant. The lace, bow, and flouncy silhouette keep things feminine, but the beading ups the glam factor.
Encore by Watters: This dress would look gorgeous at an outdoor, waterside celebration. We love the sweet lace paired with the form-fitting silhouette and neckline.
David’s Bridal: Are your friends throwing you a fiesta at your favorite nightclub? Try this sparkly style with its open sleeve detail – so chic and glam!
Theia: For an outdoor backyard event, try this super-girly lace dress with a fun retro feel.

There is no doubt that you will have your fair share of bridal showers, engagement parties, weddings, etc. to attend over the next few months. Some of these may be your own, and some may be for friends. . .it’s just that time of the year. When you are the bride, you want to look extra special, but you don’t want to break the bank doing it. The cheapest, and easiest outfit you can put on is a dress! It’s one piece, and it’s an outfit all by itself.
The dresses below are all a bright, fun option to wear to any event this spring, they can be dressed up or down, and most of them can be worn to work! The best part is most of these dresses fall under $150, making them affordable options that you can get a lot of wear out of.
Top Row: Max and Cleo, Anthropologie, Shoshanna; Bottom Row: Adrianna Papell, Maggy London, Forever21
Accessorize these dresses with jewelry and shoes that you already own. If you want, throw on a cardigan in a contrasting color. For jewelry it’s all about bold, so throw on a few chunky bangles and that wedding ring of course! When it comes to shoes all of these dresses can be dressed up, or worn more casually. For an afternoon BBQ wear some nice sandals, for a more dressy event throw on a nice pair of heels.
When looking to buy a new dress, make sure that you consider how many times you will be able to wear it. Can you wear it to work? Church? Honeymoon? Anywhere? If the answer is yes, then it is probably a good buy. If you will only wear it for the one event, keep shopping until you find something you can get more use out of.
