Which three details from your wedding were your favorites?
I loved the homemade stuff! My mom made a lot of the little pine cone candle holders and I made the centerpieces. I also loved our cake topper (which was made by a friend), and the guestbook/tree that my bridesmaid who could not be present at the wedding made for us.
If you could offer one piece of advice for other couples planning their wedding, what would it be?
Shop around! I didn’t bother having things priced out and I think we could have saved a few bucks if I had.
Give us the one moment in your wedding day you can’t stop thinking about.
Dave and I got to have 10 precious minutes completely to ourselves while we rode the gondola up to the top of the mountain immediately following our ceremony. I don’t think a lot of brides and grooms get any alone time to look at each other and say, “Wow, we are married!” It was really special and something I will cherish forever.

From our Q&A with the Bride:
What was the one thing about your venue that made you know it was the one?
We chose Devil’s Thumb Ranch because of its unique and beautiful setting in the Colorado mountains. Devil’s Thumb Ranch is very special to us and we wanted to share it with our family and friends.
Which three details from your wedding were your favorites?
We decided to decorate the tables with herbs and ferns. After the wedding, we gave the plants to friends and planted the remaining herbs in our garden. We hung photos of the weddings of our parents and grandparents from the birch tree escort card holder, along with small bouquets of herbs. Finally, it was very important to us to support local businesses.
Give us the one moment in your wedding day you can’t stop thinking about.
The moment we can’t stop thinking about is when we first saw each other. We decided to wait and see each other until the ceremony. As soon as our eyes met, we were overwhelmed with love and happiness.
