Your engagement is one of the most romantic times of you life with each other! Why not show your love this Valentine’s Day by recreating your first date, taking dance lessons, and checking off items on your wedding to-do list? Remember it’s all about compromise, even if you don’t always agree.
Many couples choose to have a patriotic wedding that coincides with 4th of July, but that doesn’t mean your color palette has to resemble Yankee Doodle Dandy or Uncle Sam. Instead, show your love for America with subtle pops of red, white or blue! Here’s our salute to bridal shoes:
Would you rather be comfortable as you walk down the aisle? If your primped and pampered toes can agree, choose these firecracker red ballet flats.

Rachel & Brian
Q&A with the Bride
What was the one thing about your venue that made you know it was the one?
Circle D had a beautiful outdoor space for our ceremony and a spacious ballroom that was a perfect size for our reception. What really sold us, however, was the staff. Everyone was incredibly friendly, professional and responsive.
Which three details from your wedding were your favorites?
One of my favorite decorative details from our wedding was the a personalized hand carved vase which was given to us from a friend of my family. He carved the wooden vase out of a branch from a tree in my childhood neighbors backyard. It read “Rachel + Brian” surrounded by a heart and had two small birds perched on each side. Amazing!
My favorite detail from the ceremony was the “tying of the knot”. My brother officiated the wedding and he put together a beautiful ceremony in which Brian and I held hands as each person in the wedding party draped a braided cord over our hands. Each cord represented a vow. At the end, the cords were tied, thus binding Brian and I together in marriage. Now we have an awesome keepsake!
We gave the flower girl and ring bearer gifts at the reception after the wedding as a thank you for being a part of our day. Included in these bags of goodies were a super-hero cape and mask for Brady and butterfly wings and wand for Kimmy. The pictures which ensued after these two kids dressed up were priceless!
Give us the one moment in your wedding day you can’t stop thinking about.
The last dance! At the end of a long day (which goes by incredibly fast), right before everyone scattered, we had our final dance of the evening. Everyone gathered around, Brian pulled me close, and we quickly proceeded to rock out to “I Believe in a Thing Called Love” by The Darkness. So much fun! Perfect ending!
