Q & A with the Bride:
1. What was the one thing about your venue that made you know it was the one?
There’s really not one thing. The farm belongs to a member of my extended family. We knew that it was a beautiful, unique setting, and that we would be able to make the day exactly what we wanted it to be.
2. Which three details from your wedding were your favorites?
1. My brother is a judge and performed the wedding.
2. The great food and cocktails: bbq smoked on-site, handmade juices, macarons and bitters
3. The farm atmosphere: cows and horses roaming in the pasture, cowboy boots, a bonfire to end the evening and the band!
3. If you could offer one piece of advice for other couples planning their wedding, what would it be?
It sounds cliché, but do it for you and not for them. You can’t please everyone, so figure out what will please you and get as close to that as you can. If you create a wedding that reflects who you are as a couple, everyone will have a great time and great memories.
4. Give us the one moment from your wedding day that you cannot stop thinking about.
We took some time toward the end of the day, as the sun was setting, to walk out into the pasture and take some pictures. It was the first time we had to ourselves all day, and we had freedom to be a bit silly.

Q & A with the Bride:
1. Which three details from your wedding were your favorite?
1. The altar: We wanted a “sweet country” feel, so we stacked 3 large round hay bales on top of each other and adorned each one with a white and yellow floral wreath in the center.
2. The favors: We created “make your own butter” favors by providing each guest with a mason jar with a marble in it (for better mixing); and preset the tables with cream and mixed herbs. Our guests had a good time watching the butter form (and the noise created a fun atmosphere).
3. The escort cards: We took 150 small wooden cows, painted them white and used tracing paper to transfer the names in a cursive font onto them. We painted a picket fence yellow and
gave it a rustic treatment to rest the cows on. We had unique cow table numbers to coordinate (each one was printed in a different pattern for an eclectic feel).
2. Give us the one moment in your wedding that you can’t stop thinking about.
I can’t stop thinking about the moment when the horse and carriage pulled up to the start of the aisle and my dad helped me down. The aisle was so beautiful with yellow rose petals in the shape of hearts, buckets of babies breath lining the white wooden chairs and the large hay bales with gorgeous wreaths–all of which faded into the background as I was walking towards my future husband.

Q & A with the Bride:
1. Which three details from your wedding were your favorites?
I spent several hours over a period of weeks individually stamping out guests names on place cards that were then attached to antique keys and displayed on a bird cage and two rustic frames. For all the time I spent, my vision really paid off, and I was glad I could incorporate the detail of the keys, since my husband had introduced the idea to me when he brought home some old keys he had found. I also loved simple, mason jar floral arrangements and burlap table runners as well as the succulent boutonnieres that were at the request of my husband but happened to be a favorite of mine too.
2. Give us the one moment in your wedding that you can’t stop thinking about.
Everything! From waking up surrounded by my best friends to being escorted away on our pedicab, it was truly the best day of my life filled with so much love and happiness. I was never nervous, having spent the last seven years of my life with Alan, but it was so encouraging when he dropped by my parents house the morning of the wedding to pick up a few things to bring over to the barn. He was the biggest gentleman, calling my sister ahead of time to make sure I was out of sight and having her give me a message saying that he was ready and had written his vows and knew that I would look beautiful. To know that this day was just as important to him as it was to me, after all the little disagreements we had had in the planning process, reassured me and made me that much more excited for the afternoon. The whole experience far exceeded my expectations, and I am so happy Cathy was there to artfully capture these memories that I will cherish forever.

We love how Becky and Jimmy decided to have a destination wedding in Tennessee all the way from Chicago! Their country chic theme included their wedding party wearing cowboy boots, a boat oar guest book, Jack Daniels lollipops, a DIY bar menu and take-out sliders at the end of the night. We can tell they wanted to treat their family and friends with real southern hospitality.
