Stephanie and Brandon were married in a traditional church ceremony at Memorial Presbyterian followed by a reception at The White House in Saint Augustine, Fla. on April 13. “It matched our theme, provided us with everything we wanted, and the location and inside of the venue was perfect,” Stephanie said. The bride wore a sweetheart lace fit ‘n’ flare wedding gown, accessorized with a jeweled sash, while the groom wore a dark gray three-piece suit, accessorized with a patterned tie. Bridesmaids wore short pale blue chiffon dresses and carried bouquets of roses, billy balls, daisies, and baby’s breath. “We both agreed that my trip down the aisle was the most memorable to both of us,” she said. “I enjoyed watching his reaction with tears in his eyes, and he enjoyed watching me being handed over by my father.” How did they symbolize their unity? With a cord tying! “I have them displayed in a box in the living room as a constant reminder of the vows we took that day,” Stephanie said. The reception followed with tables decorated with mason jar centerpieces, chalkboard numbers, “stop by” and “say hi!” chair decor signs, and an I Spy card at each place setting. “I loved the yellow chevron theme,” she said. “To this day, I am still obsessed with it and every time I see chevron, I think of our big day.” Following their first dance, the newlyweds played the shoe game. Plus, there was a photo booth complete with props too.

Lainey and Eric were married at Fourth Presbyterian Church followed by a reception at The Twentieth Century Club in Pittsburgh, Penn. on Mary 25. Since they are both architects, they chose their venue for it’s charm. “The ballroom . .  had many unique elements, including a stage, speak-easy style seating areas, and a mezzanine to overlook the whole party,” Lainey said. ” And to make it even better, the ballroom had mint colored accents to go along with our color scheme! The bride wore a strapless a-line wedding gown, accessorized with a statement necklace and earrings, while her bridesmaids wore peplum dresses, accessorized with clutches. Attached to the bottom of Lainey’s bouquet was her “something old,” which was her great-grandmother’s vintage handkerchief. We loved how it was so bright with pink peonies, yellow craspedia, orange ranunculuses, and sage green dusty millers! Guests were escorted to their seats with paper pinwheels. To their surprise, they found favor bags waiting for them filled with goodies. “The one moment from the wedding day that we enjoyed the most was our first dance,” she said. “We danced to “The Way You Look Tonight” – a cover by Maroon 5. That dance was the first time where it felt just like us during the day, and it seemed like time slowed down for a few minutes.” Just wait until you see the cake! It was decorated with rainbow sprinkles and a Lego topper.

Rachael and Jordan were married at Historic Rosemont Manor in Berryville, Va. “When I arrived at Historic Rosemont Manor, I instantly was reminded of my childhood home,” Rachael said. “I grew up in a 100-year-old house in downtown Leesburg and have fond memories of my time spent there. I knew right then and there that it was the venue I would be married at.” The outdoor ceremony included bright pops of color — pink, orange, and yellow as well as the indoor reception. Lantern centerpieces were surrounded with small floral arrangements, and the wedding cake featured sugar flowers cascading down three tiers. “My mother loves doing origami and handmade all the boxes that we used as favors,” she said. “It’s a good thing I was engaged for 17 months because this was not a quick task.” Her favorite moment? Seeing her husband for the first time, of course! But also when her decorator took her from the cocktail hour to show her the reception all set up before guests were in it. “It was exactly how I had envisioned it would look,” Rachael said. “As a bride, you work so hard to make your dream wedding come to life, and when you see it all come together, it’s the best feeling in the world.”

Bright Coral and Yellow Summer Wedding in California

Cheryl & Mark

August 10

Sun Valley, California

~~~~~~~~
From the photographer: “It was a gorgeous and sunny day in August when Cheryl and Mark for the first time were announced as husband and wife. Their beautiful celebration took a place at Grace Community Church in Sun Valley, California. Cheryl for her wedding chose an ivory color, beautiful and puffy gown, and a beaded lace jacked as her top. Her shoes were mesh with rhinestone and looked very cute. As for the bouquet, she went for simplicity. It was a beautifully styled bouquet out of white and yellow colored roses.
One of the biggest things Cheryl and Mark were proud of was their big and fun bridal party. They had seven bridesmaids and groomsmen, plus a true handsome ring bearer. Bridesmaids were wearing coral color dresses and had bright yellow color orchid bouquets.  The groom and his groomsmen wore gray color tuxedos with yellow color boutonnieres, looking handsome and stylish. There were a lot of delicate, fun and unexpected moments at the wedding.
A breathtaking incident occurred right before the ceremony when Cheryl’s dad came to give her a blessing. When Cheryl and her dad saw each other they wept in tears and hugged each other shearing their heart feelings. A very unexpected moment happened right before Mark had his right to kiss Cheryl for the first time. He took out a spray from his jacket and sprayed his mouth before kissing Cheryl. Everyone was insanely laughing seeing this to happen.
It was also hilarious when Cheryl and Mark and the rest of the bridal party walked down the aisle. They had these big and funny glasses. They put them on and showed their moves while walking down. At the end of their beautiful celebration, excited like never before, Cheryl and Mark walked down the path while their guests were waving sparklers and giving them blessings. The newlyweds jumped into a red Mustang and took off to their lovely honeymoon.” — Tomas Skaringa of The Big Affair
Q & A with the Bride:
1. What was the one thing about your venue that made you know it was the one?
We had looked at so many venues; they all began to run together. I wanted something beautiful and cost-friendly, and the options in Charlottesville were limited. One evening, when we weren’t really looking specifically for a venue, my husband came across The American Hotel, and I fell in love! We went to look at it the following week and booked it that day. The hotel was perfect for our style and personalities and in our budget!
2. Which three details from your wedding were your favorites?
1. My dress – I only tried on dresses once so I knew I had to pick something that day! Once I tried it on, I knew nothing else could top it! It was discontinued and just happened to be my exact size and on clearance! I did not even need alterations!
2. Guest Tree – I saw the idea on Pinterest and fell in love with the idea. We had every guest sign a leaf to place on the tree, and when it was all full, we framed it, and it has became a centerpiece in our home!
3. Grooms Cuff Links – Music is a huge part of my husband’s life, and as special touch, I bought him music note cuff links. It was a small touch but something that make his rented tux more customized to him!
3. Give us the one moment in your wedding day you can’t stop thinking about.
The moment I can’t stop thinking about is the moment when we were saying our vows, and Ryan took out a handkerchief and wiped my tears away.  It was truly a picture of his love for me, and it will forever be a cherished memory of mine.
