We often forget about the events leading up to the wedding, especially the bridal shower. Why? Because you’re not supposed to plan it! You get to be the guest of honor as your closest female friends and family gather to girl-talk, eat and lavish you with gifts. Lately though, brides have been steering away from the age-old tradition and choosing their own steal-worthy theme. We love how this bridal shower is an interactive picnic. Guests were able to pick their blanket to sit on and basket to place their food in. It almost makes us want to take a trip down the rabbit hole from Alice in Wonderland. Grab a cup of tea, point your pinky and join this charming celebration:

The maid of honor and often bridesmaids share the responsibility of hosting the bridal shower, according to tradition. Surprisingly though, it’s common for a bride to have more than one bridal shower. In that case, the host(s) should make sure that there is no duplication of guests on each list. The guest list should be filled with the bride’s nearest and dearest family and friends whereas the menu should be filled with the sweetest of treats. (Tip: Every guest that is invited to the bridal shower should already be on the wedding guest list.) Invitations, including registry information, should be sent out six weeks to one month in advance. One of guests’ favorite rituals at a bridal shower is making a bouquet out of ribbons and bows from the opened gifts so the bride can use it at the rehearsal. However, it’s perfectly acceptable to start your own ritual.

Not all bridesmaids and mothers are DIY’ers. But that doesn’t mean you can’t incorporate some fun ideas into the Bridal Shower. Here are just a few that will pop, and make a difference in the “decor” of this special pre-wedding event. Remember, every little bit counts!
I know it’s Winter (well not quite yet, but it’s close), but I was inspired by this pink cardigan/white sweater outfit and had to pull together a bridal shower inspiration around it. So, for all of the Spring and Summer planning brides, send this to your MOH/Bridesmaids if you’re in the mood for a pink bridal shower! Happy Friday Everyone!
