Jenny and Christian were married at Malaparte in downtown Toronto, Ontario, Canada on July 20. “Malaparte had everything we were looking for, but the venue’s location was key!” Jenny said. “It is located just two blocks from where we live, so we walked to our wedding.” The bride walked down the aisle wearing a sweetheart ball gown, accessorized with a jeweled sash, while the groom stood waiting, wearing a black suit, accessorized with a gray tie. Jenny’s favorite moment? “Standing at the altar and holding Christian’s hands, with everything else a blur but knowing that that moment was the beginning of our lives together,” she said. The reception followed inside the the 6th story of the TIFF Bell Lightbox with floor-to-ceiling cityscape views. Did you notice their ceremony was outside in an amphitheatre? Tables were decorated with tall floral centerpieces featuring yellow flowers, floating candles, and chewy lime sugar cookies at each place setting, which served as favors. “It was really important to us to highlight customs from my Chinese background,” Jenny said. “We had a tea ceremony, lion dance, and table-to-table toasting during dinner.” The cake was also a hit! It had two different flavors: passion fruit with fresh berries and salted caramel chocolate. Yum!
“Vanessa + Jordan are two of the sweetest people you will ever meet. When we talked about their day, I was so excited to see how all of their ideas would come to life. The wedding day turned out amazing. Their wedding day did not grant us the lovely weather Vanessa + Jordan were hoping for in order for them to have a roof top ceremony at the Raddison, so plans were altered, plan ‘B’ put into place but the smile never ever left Vanessa + Jordan’s faces. The couple, their family and the entire wedding party were game for photos in the rain…and I was too…what awesome results! Everything from Vanessa’s dress to her head piece, to her accessories made complete sense, and she wore it so well. Her smokey eyes just popped off the off her porcelain skin & white dress. The over sized bouquet finished the entire ensemble so well, she looked stunning. Jordan looked so so sharp, sporting a nice slim fitting suit, with some funky cuff links and a masculine-ly modern boutonniere. The venue was a chic mix of nautical elements, and set the stage perfectly for the gorgeous damask elements the couple incorporated in the decor. The table setting and centerpieces by Cool, Green & Shady were simply exquisite. Dessert Trends did a fantastic job on the intricate details of the wedding cake, which tasted as good as it looked.” –Marget Diotalevi (Avenue Photo)
