Brittany + Patrick
From the Photographer: “As I sat down to choose pictures for Brittany+Patrick’s wedding preview…I sat at my computer overwhelmed (in a good way!), just as I felt as I entered the beautiful drive of Southern Exposure Herb Farm, the locale for Brittany and Patrick’s wedding day. There were beautiful gardens, antiques and cute buildings galore, and I couldn’t wait to start the day.
Not only was their location perfect for this artistic couple, so were the details and family and friends incorporated into every part of their day. Everything had meaning, everyone involved was a loved one. Brittany’s uncle officiated, family performed music during the ceremony, a friend made the beautiful cake, Brittany’s hairpiece made from lace from her mother’s gown. And despite the threat of rain throughout the afternoon, it held off and they were married under a canopy of silver lace vine. The reception held under an open-air tent behind the milking parlor…simply adorable. One of my favorite parts of the reception was when Brittany and Patrick surprised her grandparents, who were celebrating their anniversary that day, with their own little cake to cut and feed to each other. Brittany and Patrick – your day was perfect! And brides-to-be looking for a unique location…I honestly cannot express how much I enjoyed this venue. The owners are sweet, accommodating and have worked brilliantly at turning this 19th century hog farm into a charming herb garden and wedding venue.” -Amy Carroll
Sara + Trevor
Ann Arbor, Michigan
We are extremely excited to share this wedding. Mostly because Amy Carroll’s photography is amazing, but also because this wedding is filled with perfect details great for inspiration. One of the best parts of the entire thing was the bride’s two pairs of shoes! White for the ceremony, and blue Badgley Mischka heels (a gift from a very generous friend!).
From the Photography: “First of all, Sara and Trevor have great vision and style and this wedding…definitely ranks high on my list of favorites for amazing weddings. Their ceremony…a traditional catholic ceremony in Ann Arbor…perfect in every way. Afterward heading to U of M’s campus for some group shots but then…off to the very rustically adorable Misty Farms. A newer venue complete with beautiful barns, chickens (much to my delight and more on that below!), horses and immaculate grounds. Even after the threat of rain had everyone scurrying to make the outdoor cocktail hour an indoor affair, the planner didn’t miss a beat. Sara and Trevor have a shared sense of humor and love for each other that I found refreshing and fun to work with. I was more than delighted that I had the honor of capturing this day, of being part of the fun, and seeing their vision come together.” -Amy Carroll Photography
