Five Fabulous Looks by Amsale

You can always expect to see a collection of beautifully structured luxe gowns at Amsale. The Spring 2012 season showcases origami-like details at the neckline and on the back, as well as a mix of stiff and soft fabrics. Here are some details that we loved:

Bridal Buttons: The traditional back detail of satin buttons flowing down the back of the wedding dress a classic design touch that you’ll see, but we liked the simple six button closure on the back of this one-shoulder gown with full tulle skirt. It sticks with tradition but is definitely a modern touch.

Folded Neckline: Several gowns featured this one-shoulder folded detail. Made from silk wool, Amsale paired this style bodice with a trumpet skirt, a short ‘little white dress’ and with a voluminous tulle skirt.

Light and Airy Bridesmaid Dress: Crinkle chiffon is a light and airy fabric that spring and summertime brides may want to choose for their ‘maids. This opal or pale pink dress features a square neck, draped bodice and cap sleeves.

Broach Embellishment: This regal gown has a bit of folded detailing on the bodice but the eye-catching beading at the waist is what draws the eye, and our praise.

Beaded High Neckline: Forget worrying about what jewelry you’ll wear with this silk wool ball gown with bateau neckline and tulle skirt. The heavily encrusted neckline of the bodice trails all the way around giving the impression of a very ornate necklace.

Now that you’ve seen some of the best looks on the runway, here’s a look at the overall trends.  There were some obvious ones like lace and tulle dresses, and then some more subtle detailing such as peplums and modesty.  Here’s Part I of WeddingWire’s Bridal Market Trend Report:

Tulle

Brides looking for that walking on a cloud feeling will have no shortage of wedding dresses made partly or completely of tulle.  From full ball gown skirts to pleated bodices, designers showed wedding dresses in a variety of silhouettes with this soft and delicate fabric.

Bridal Market Recap: Amsale

The tailored look of the Spring 2012 Amsale collection was a mix of stiff fabrics (taffeta, silk mikado and silk faille), pleating and an origami-style bow detail.

Whether discussing fabric manipulation, mixing of materials or elegant embellishments, brides looking for a classic and sophisticated look will love the new Amsale collection.  You just have to wait till it hits salons in the fall.

1 – I like simple and the simplicity of this diagonal bow on the “Harper” dress was quite chic. Also, did you notice how one side of the strapless neckline is a natural curve while the other is higher?  A number of designers created an off-balanced neckline which adds another subtle detail.
