Our Q&A with the Bride:
What was the one thing about your venue that made you know it was the one?
We looked at so many gorgeous venues in Charleston but Hunter’s parents house was set on the perfect backdrop so it just made sense. We had the OK to have the wedding our way, and we were also able to pick any date (which can be very tricky with Charleston being a top wedding destination).
If you could offer one piece of advice for other couples planning their wedding, what would it be?
I have and will continue telling new bride-to-bes that it’s YOUR day so stand up and say it! Don’t over-invite because you “have to”. A wedding is for you and your closest family and friends to enjoy and have those memories forever. Keep the guest list small, it makes every other number grow.
Give us the one moment in your wedding day you can’t stop thinking about.
My favorite moment was walking down the aisle. I was so nervous and excited waiting to walk, but my dad helped make light of that and joked and teased with me. My brother-in-law was singing and playing guitar to Edwin McCain’s “I’ll Be” which I had picked out long before getting engaged. I had not told or shown Hunter anything about my dress so I couldn’t wait to see him. Once I saw him I really don’t remember the rest of the walk down. The nerves calmed and I couldn’t wait for that KISS! And to get our party started!
