April + Tim
June 2009
The Hermitage, Home of President Andrew Jackson
April & Tim were married in The Hermitage Church at the home of President Andrew Jackson just outside of Nashville, TN on Saturday, June 27, 2009. They loved the idea of exchanging their vows in such a historic setting, and still wanted to bring their modern aesthetic into the mix. April, a graphic designer, created a monogram that was used throughout all their printed pieces and a custom made altar piece that hung in the historic church, built in 1823. Since the church is historically preserved and does not use artificial lighting, the natural hue of sunset was accented by orange blossom scented candles in the windowsills and eight foot tall iron trees with dozens of hanging oil votives. The reception was held at Tulip Grove Mansion, where guests enjoyed local Yazoo Brew beers and even a slice of Tim’s red velvet Star Trek Enterprise cake. The bold color scheme of orange, chocolate brown, and raspberry matched the record summer heat, but the bride and groom kept their cool and danced the night away with friends & family before being whisked away in a vintage 1939 Packard.” – Amy Parman Williamson County Weddings & Events
