We asked our readers to submit their “wedding dress wish lists” and we went on the hunt at New York Bridal Market to find their dream dress. Kara-Marie wrote in with the following request:
I’m looking for a 1950’s inspired strapless multi-layered lace gown with matching jacket…I dream of looking like my grandmother did on her wedding day, If I had the money I would recreate her dress specifically!
Luckily for Kara-Marie, many designers created gowns with retro-inspired flair this season. While she didn’t mention if she’s looking for a tea-length style (typical for 1950s wedding dresses) or not, we included some here. And you’ll notice that not all of these styles are strapless – we thought an illusion neckline might be a good (and era-appropriate!) coverage option, as well.
