The best wedding advice I ever received was to joust enjoy my day and to not sweat the small stuff. Life happens and that’s ok… you are marring your best friend/soul mate and that’s all that matters.
The best piece of advice I have received from Martha Stewart Weddings is the BONE FOLDER! It is used to fold cardstock and make a nice, hard crease. We have about 6 of them (plus several of them are lost in the couch). Five white ones from Michaels and one green one from Wal-Mart. I have a wedding business where I print wedding programs all day and we use “Martha Stewart” brand bone folders to get the job done! Thanks, Martha and crew! You rock
When I started my photography business back in 2000, MSW magazine was one of my main inspirations…and 9 years later I still find the images and articles in both the magazine and the blogs fresh and modern. So my best piece of wedding advice is MSW weddings itself!
I love using the checklists and worksheets included in the magazine as they are the most comprehensive I’ve come across. Thank you MSW magazine!
The advice that I view as most important from Martha is to add small details that help personalize the wedding and maintain continuity throughout the ceremony and reception. Continunity creates its own elegance and accentuates the beauty of the bride and the occasion.
My imagination is easily sparked when I see beautifully inspired ideas. Martha and her team keep my mind firing on all cylinders.
Thanks so much for sharing your wisdom, Martha.
Best Regards.
Beth Schweitz
Thanks for sharing your wisdom and creativity, Martha.

I would love to win this. I’ve loved Martha Stewart since I was a little girl and my mom had her cookbooks. Please consider me?
I want to be just like Martha! Please send me to the show, I have been a fan of hers for years.
Other than owning every Martha Stewart Weddings Magazine to share with my brides… I love the Inspiration Section on http://www.marthastewartweddings.com! When a bride is overwhelmed I send her there to find the excitement or calmness she needs to make major color, location, and other special decisions about her very important day! Thank you Darcy for making my job easy!

The best piece of wedding advice I revieved from Martha Stewart had to be the tips on saving and where we should take and give from.
The best wedding favors are exercises in elegant simplicity. i LOVE this quote because it shows that the favors don’t have to be extravagant.
Wow, I’m going to be in New York City that week anyway!
I love that MS Living has almost singlehandedly ended the identical Bridesmaid trend, and hopefully eradicated it forever! Thank You for showing all the color and style options to Brides everywhere.
her florals are the best!! and the decorations are priceless- every brides wants them
The wedding should reflect the couple.
As both a bride-to-be AND a Wedding Planner with my own business, it is safe to say that Martha has been feeding me excellent advice and been my “go-to-girl” for quite a while! I think one of the greatest tips Martha shared was how to smile pretty on your wedding day since it is one of the happiest days of your life. You can’t learn that at school. These are tips women want to know.
And…I absolutely love the conversation starter dance (naming the tables after the songs and having the guests get up and boogie to their song). That’s great and I love sharing that idea with my brides who love it as well!
Thanks Martha!!! Happy Anniversary!!!
How exciting! My faves from Martha Stewart have got to be the bride and grooms playlist from the planning section – these have been an invaluable resource to the Lee Studio (www.leestudiosf.com) team.
I hope for an opportunity to thank these fine folks in person!
I think the one of the biggest things I’ve learned regarding floral design is to rely on the simplicity of nature. Mother Nature gives us such beauty to work with. My job is not to improve upon it, just showcase it and present it well. When I follow this simple tip designing bouquets, centerpieces and everything else is very much second nature.
How can I limit it to one piece of advice? Martha Stewart has the flair for seeing things in a totally different way! From little pumpkins for holding butter, to using chandeliers in trees at events. I, as a wedding planner, am always scouring the magazine, looking for little tidbits I can incorporate (or steal) to use at my events. Thank you, Martha, for haviing such a creative eye, and sharing it with us!
MS Weddings has been my favorite style reference even before I had my own wedding last year at 121 in North Salem. And now that it’s over, I still pick up every issue for inspiration and ideas in my stationery design business.

got great idea for made your own invitations
I can’t name just one. They have all really helped me.
Everything in here gave me an idea of my own to go with. It was def. inspiration. I just want to say thank you!!!! ~A Friday
The best piece of advice I was given was to enjoy the moment. Now that my father-in-law has passed away suddenly, it’s given me a new perspective on the phrase “living for today”. Everyone is so worried about tomorrow, next week, next year…Your wedding day should be enjoyed, and not planned down to the minute. You need to enjoy the quality time spent with bridesmaids, enjoy your vows to your new husband, and enjoy all the wonderful you get to spend with family afterwards. There really is no better feeling.
Laughing at your troubles & mistakes is so much easier than worrying about them.
I put my mailing address and not my email address, so I’m adding it with this comment. I appologize.
diy diy diy!!!!!!!!!!! favors, programs, everything. all of martha stewart magazine has inspired me to be a little more crafty in life…
The inspiration from Martha Stewart Weddings is for my couples. I love to photograph weddings where the couple puts their personal touch into their wedding day. During our meetings, we always end up discussing those added bits of creativity and I suggest MSW as a great place to get started. You can only imagine the wonderful ideas that started with a few friends and a MSW magazine! I heart Martha!
Editing, editing, editing… Gathering inspiration can be mind blowing and you really can not use everything that is out there. The power of editing allows you to simplify your event and to focus on the really important thing… that you are getting married! I have read about this in MSW in the past but its also in the current issue. Would love to go to NYC right before my wedding. And as a professional wedding cake baker, It would be amazing to see the retrospective of cakes! Fingers are crossed!
I can’t just say one, but have fun and relax to try and remember the special moments from the big day, as they will all seem like a blur….so RELAX and suck it all in!!! Take a deep breath and go on!!!
The best advice from Martha Stewart was to learn how to keep organized while planning my wedding. I accomplished this by purchasing her fantastic Planner. The Keepsake Wedding Planner is a resource that all brides should have. :^)

When I was younger my Mom introduced me to the “Martha Way” (we like to call her Martha beacause she’s so creative just like Martha!) As a stylist I pick up every new issue of Martha Stewart weddings to help my clients decide where they want to go with their weddings. As a soon to be bride I am using as much as I can from the magazine to help create a beautiful wedding that fits me perfectly! Thanks Martha for all of your wisdom and crafts!
The best piece of advice I ever received was to just enjoy yourself on your wedding day because anything that might go wrong is something small in comparison – and you shouldn’t sweat the small stuff (it’s all small stuff on your wedding day)!
MSW has inspired me for over a decade to believe in love and to never give up until you find the one you want to marry!
Years ago I read some tips in Martha Stewart Weddings magazine on how to manage place cards and have utilized those ideas in my business and in both daughters weddings making the process simple, fresh and easy for my guests to navigate.
I own a custom wedding invitation company, and my favorite part is the tips and trends. My favorite trend of all time is incorporating fabric into invitations! Talk about a creative person’s dream come true! Thanks MSW! XOXO
MSW always has the best advice for floral designers in the wedding industry. I have saved every issue, and in every issue I love the advice and ideas in the “good things” section. Always little tidbits that make a huge impact. I love the Winter 2006 issue that mentions even your stationary can allude to the flower of the day. Being a florist, it is wonderful to tie the flower into the rest of the details.
After thumbing through 7-8 wedding magazines, Martha’s has been my top help in planning my wedding. Simple, beautiful, and creative. Seems to really know what kind of help us brides are really looking for…. on a budget.
I loved the recent wedding tip about giving your bridal bouquet to the longest married couple as opposed to the traditional toss. I’m all about tradition, but I appreciate new wedding planning alternatives that are personal and meaningful. Nicely done!

How could you not be inspired by the pages and pages of beautiful ideas. Martha Stewart magazines are my go to resource!
As an owner of an entertainment company, I read the magazine to keep up with the latest trends.
Wow. So hard to pick the best advice from MSW! I would have to say it would be to invest in what is truly important to you for your wedding day!

The best piece of advice we received was to try to not leave one another’s side for the entire night. We only really separated in order to use the bathroom! It made it so we enjoyed the night together, and the memory of our wedding was of us together, and not separated in the crowd. It was very special (and symbolic) to be by one anothers side till the very end.
As a wedding planner, you always need to keep yourself prepared for any event or circumstance that may come up within the big day.
Some time ago I was riding up the elevator with my bride before her big send off down the aisle and she looked at me in complete shock and said “I have no idea what to say for my personal vows!”. Literally, she had forgotten at that moment; complete blank. I just looked at her and said ‘Just let your heart explode. Whatever comes over you, just go with it and feel it and tell him. It will never let you down.’
That piece of advice has since become my company’s signature…Just let your heart explode:)
Congrats to your fabulousness!! Would love to cheers it to you!

I have been reading MSW for years and I’m always inspired by the real weddings, invitations, and the stunning wedding cakes! Best resources can be found on the pages of MSW! Thank you for all of the beauty and inspiration!
Each piece of advice, every photo, DIY tip, and wedding planning segment in the magazine has always been invaluable to me. My husband and I own and operate two wedding planning companies and your advice is inspirational, practical, and fun for brides AND grooms!
We often incorporate your ideas in our planning processes with clients and I model table inspirations and vision boards from ideas in the magazine as well. Keep up the inspiration and gorgeous work!
I’ve learned so many things from Martha Stewart Weddings though the foremost is that a beautiful wedding, no matter the budget, will be a reflection of the couple’s personalities and the love they share.
MSW is my wedding bible! Everything you need to know about weddings can be found in one issue or another as well as online. The best wedding advice I’ve received on Martha Stewart Weddings is that it’s all in the details. Each wedding should reflect the personalities of the bride and groom. Unique and personal details are what touch the hearts of each guest because they recognize those special things they see at your wedding and remark, “That’s so them!”.
Congrats, Calendulas make great wedding flowers, Yellow is beautiful too. Local fresh flowers are the way to go. Thanks

Martha Stewart Weddings has inspired me for years. Even before becoming engaged, I would find myself reading MSW cover to cover, dreaming of the day when I would actually get to use all of the fabulous ideas! Recently engaged, I am finding myself incorporating many ideas that I have literally pulled from the magazine over the last few years…it’s wonderful to see everything come together! MSW has such a unique style that is classic, romantic, fun and beautiful, which is exactly what a wedding should be!
MSW is the only wedding mag I subscribe to. it is the wedding bible. Good advice, great ideas and beautiful photo spreads. My favorite over the years was the school house themed real wedding.
And October 19th is mt 29th birthday – a night at The Plaza would be so nice!
The best piece of advice I took from Martha Stewart Weddings is that you don’t have to spend a ton of money or “go big” to make your event special. Small details and simple touches can make a big difference, and doing things yourself will make your wedding that much more special and cost effective. you don’t have to be a design genius or a craft guru to put together a beautiful event.
Thank you martha and staff for sharing all your ideas and expertise with us!!!
Kari
Martha Stewart Weddings may not display the rock star or the gothic wedding, but the MSW creative team of artists and designers have given us a glimpse into their artsy minds and taken the magazine to a whole new level above the competition. MSW shows us that every bride and groom has a story to tell and how we choose to creatively tell that story to our guests on our wedding day will set us apart from being just another wedding. It’s up to us to step up to the challenge and think outside the box, and gosh darnit, I think Martha might say, “now, that’s a good thing!”
MSW has taught me that the small details (often DIY) are what guests often remember most, not the big fancy ballroom or how much you spent on flowers!
My favorite thing I have found in MSW was the “Seasonal Flower Chart” that showed what flowers are best for which seasons. It has helped me, along with many other of my friends! And of course, all the DIY options are something I tear out and keep each issue!
I love the DIY tissue paper pom-poms! Can’t wait to use them at our wedding.
I do not know where to start. Her favors wer what inspired me to get into the wedding supplies business.
This is awesome!! We’re getting married in May 2010 and because of limited budget, I’m planning to do as many DIY projects I can handle. I think a lot of brides agree that MSW is one of the best sources for DIY ideas. I recently did a centerpiece trial using MSW directions on how to make tissue pomanders. MSW is practically my main source for ideas and inspiration for my wedding. That’s why I got so excited when I learned about the MSW anniversary celebration.
Well, the best thing I got out of Martha Stewart Weddings wasn’t actually advice (although I did get a lot of useful tips), but MY DRESS! I first saw a picture of it in the magazine and fell instantly in love. I’ll be walking down the aisle in that dress next year, and I never would have found it without Martha Stewart Weddings.
Martha is such an inspiration to me. I look forward to her publications ever month in hopes for a new exciting craft to try out!
I hope to see her work in person!
xo

The best piece of advice I received from Martha Stewart Weddings was to enter this contest.
The best advice has been the personal touches…signature drinks and homemade boxes and tags for the donuts I’ll be giving as my favor. What a great website too with all those tools to keep me organized!!
Happy Anniversary! Martha Stewart’s Weddings is my favorite magazine – there is so much great information, advice and inspiration. I love flipping through the pages, cutting out pictures, articles, etc. when planning my “Story Boards/Files” for a wedding. I always take away some great idea.
It’s your day… Have fun!
Martha has taught me the importance of small details. Nothing will go unnoticed.
One have to have a TALENT otherwise those pictures look all the same. Good luck Inta….
