Ashley Hebert, who starred in the seventh edition of “The Bachelorette,” is tying the knot to J.P. Rosenbaum in Fiji this weekend. And yes, their wedding will be televised on ABC! The special will air later in December and will include Hebert’s dress fitting and the bachelor and bachelorette parties. Like many other celebrity brides, who have worn colored wedding dresses this year, Hebert hinted that her custom-made gown will not be white as well, according to US Weekly. Here’s our predictions: Maybe she’ll wear a pink gown similar to Anne Hathaway and Jessica Biel or maybe start a new trend with a silver ruffled gown accented with a floral embellishment. Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s engagement was no surprise this spring. However, details on the couple’s nuptials have been a secret until last week, when sources said Jolie will wear a custom dress designed by L’Wren Scott.
“Angelina wanted to go with someone who is not so obvious for designing wedding gowns,” a source told Grazia. “She’s been courted by some of the hottest designers on the planet, but having a big name isn’t important to Angelina. She wanted someone she could trust, and she most definitely trusts L’Wren Scott.”
Here’s what we know: Jolie likes to make a statement and show off her figure. Maybe she’ll wear a one-shoulder gown with a high-slit and jeweled embellishments similar to what she wore to the Oscars this year. Or maybe she’ll channel her inner-Bella from Twilight with a long-sleeved gown that has a cut out back and lace embellishments. What if she decides to follow in other celebrities’ footsteps and wear a colored gown? What do you think? Let us know in the comments below.
Jessica Biel was serenaded by future husband Justin Timberlake as she walked down the aisle wearing a custom Giambattista Valli Haute couture gown at her Italian wedding Oct. 19. Not to mention it was petal pink!
This isn’t the first time we have seen celebrity brides wearing a non-white wedding gown. Amber Tamblyn wore a mustard-colored dress at her Oct. 6 wedding to David Cross, and Anne Hathaway wore a custom pink Valentino gown at her Sept. 29 wedding to Adam Shulman. Let’s not forget Reese Witherspoons’ Monique Lhuillier blush-hued gown at her March 2011 wedding to Jim Toth. Does this make the colored wedding gown an official trend? What do you think? Even though President Barack Obama will be participating in the first presidential debate Wednesday night against Republican nominee Mitt Romney, Obama has something else to celebrate–his 20th wedding anniversary with his wife, Michelle. On Oct. 3, 1992, Barack and Michelle Obama married at Trinity United in Chicago with around 200 of their closest family and friends, according to People.
“Twenty years ago today, I married the love of my life and my best friend,” Obama tweeted. “Happy anniversary, Michelle!” In response, Michelle tweeted back, “Happy 20th anniversary, Barack. Thank you for being an incredible partner, friend and father every day. I love you!”
On her wedding day, Michelle wore an off-the-shoulder, long-sleeved white gown. But if her wedding were today, what kind of dress would she wear? Here’s what we know: Michelle likes to make a statement with bold colors and body-conscious cuts that emphasize her figure. Maybe she would wear an empire, one-shoulder tulle gown, similar to what she wore to the presidential inauguration in 2010. Or maybe she would wear a short-sleeved, tea-length dress with a birdcage veil. Congrats Barack and Michelle!
