We asked our readers to submit their “wedding dress wish lists” and we went on the hunt at New York Bridal Market to find their dream dress. Susu commented with the following request:

My fiance’s dream was to be married on a beach, but we sadly can’t make that happen. I think I like the trumpet style dresses. Is there a wedding dress that falls somewhere in the middle? It’s been a challenge trying to find something!

It seems that Susu is looking for a combination of a beach wedding dress and something that’s more fitted and appropriate for an indoor wedding. We suggest she look for trumpet wedding dresses in lightweight fabrics, like tulle or organza. These dresses feel ethereal and beachy, but are still formal enough for an indoor wedding. If Susu wants something a bit more glamorous, she can easily add a beaded sash to any of these styles.

We asked our readers to submit their “wedding dress wish lists” and we went on the hunt at New York Bridal Market to find their dream dress. BellaKFaye commented with the following request:

I would love to see some asymmetrical, A-line gowns with totally unique details that don’t include feathers! Maybe strapless with a sweetheart neckline, or something with straps and a gorgeous back. I’ve been looking for dresses since my engagement and have yet to find something that’s both unique and show-stopping without being gaudy or too couture. Please help!

Well, BellaKFaye, there weren’t as many asymmetrical hemlines this season as we saw during October Bridal Market, there were several styles that we can point you to. All of these feature unique details (and no feathers!) – the Jenny Lee has a feminine ruffled skirt, the Rafael Cennamo features an exaggerated bow detail and gorgeous draped back, the Reem Acra has stunning sparkle on the bodice, and the Carolina Herrera’s scalloped skirt is a sweet touch.

We asked our readers to submit their “wedding dress wish lists” and we went on the hunt at New York Bridal Market to find their dream dress. Kara-Marie wrote in with the following request:

I’m looking for a 1950′s inspired strapless multi-layered lace gown with matching jacket…I dream of looking like my grandmother did on her wedding day, If I had the money I would recreate her dress specifically!

Luckily for Kara-Marie, many designers created gowns with retro-inspired flair this season. While she didn’t mention if she’s looking for a tea-length style (typical for 1950s wedding dresses) or not, we included some here. And you’ll notice that not all of these styles are strapless – we thought an illusion neckline might be a good (and era-appropriate!) coverage option, as well.

Pier 92 was the hub of this season’s New York Bridal Market, full of exciting new wedding gowns, bridesmaid dresses, and accessories. It was so much fun to check out the new collections from mainstays and brand-new design houses. Check out just a sampling of the collections that showed at Pier 92 here:

Bari Jay Bridesmaid Dresses: Love the rainbow of colors in this bridesmaid collection. Our favorites? The black lace peplum mini, the beach-worthy multicolor gown, and the on-trend chartreuse.

Berta Wedding Dresses: These wedding dresses hug the figure in all the right places. It’s definitely a sexy collection, but totally feminine at the same time.

Ivy & Aster Wedding Dresses: We loved how whimsical Ivy & Aster’s dresses are. From a textured tea-length style to a black-and-white feathered mini to a patterned romantic gown, lots of unique styles here.

Olia Zavozina Wedding Dresses: This collection features a mix of form-fitting, glam gowns, and more demure styles. We all swooned over the pink gown featured above.
