Bridal Shower Picnic Style Shoot in North Carolina

Posted by Caitlin on Jun 14, 2013

We often forget about the events leading up to the wedding, especially the bridal shower. Why? Because you’re not supposed to plan it! You get to be the guest of honor as your closest female friends and family gather to girl-talk, eat and lavish you with gifts. Lately though, brides have been steering away from the age-old tradition and choosing their own steal-worthy theme. We love how this bridal shower is an interactive picnic. Guests were able to pick their blanket to sit on and basket to place their food in. It almost makes us want to take a trip down the rabbit hole from Alice in Wonderland. Grab a cup of tea, point your pinky and join this charming celebration:

Bohemian Floral Spring Style Shoot in Indiana

Posted by Caitlin on Jun 07, 2013

For the boho-chic bride, we’re ending this week with an inspiring romantic style shoot for you! It’s no secret that we love floral crowns filled with big, billowing blooms as a veil alternative. They’re such statement pieces worth wearing. (Believe it or not, this trend is not just for flower girls anymore!) Match your floral crown with a delicate lace wedding gown or side fishtail braid hairstyle. See more of the delicious details below, including cake and macaroons:

From the Photographer:

“The [style shoot] was based on a real couple, Hilary and Paul, who wanted to bring to life their version of the famous founding couple, John and Abigail Adams. ‘The Adams’ relationship is an inspiration and John Adams’ core values and morals were way beyond his time. We admired their relationship so much we used one of their [estimated 12,000] love letters as a reading in our wedding ceremony,’ said Hilary. It was well known that Mr. and Mrs. Adams were avid letter writers, so we decided to incorporate the theme of love letters into the [style shoot] as well. Our calligrapher, also a bit of a history buff it would seem, went online and found us Abigail Adams stamps for the invitation suite and even researched the address at which Abigail had been living before her marriage to use on the RSVP cards. While John was in office many people called the couple ‘Mr. President’ and ‘Mrs. President,’ so we made some mugs with those titles on the side.'” –Mollie Tobias Photography

Brides aren’t the only ones seeking a little style inspiration for the big day. Today we’ve rounded up some of our very favorite looks for those dashing grooms!

Classic black tuxedo – A groom can truly do no wrong in a pressed white tux shirt and a single breasted, one-button jacket. So handsome!

Gray suit with black bow tie – A refreshing take on the traditional. The pop of color in the boutonniere adds an unexpected element to this crisp, clean look.

Three piece suit – We love the textured light gray paired with a matching satin tie, a crisp white pocket square and a simple boutonniere.

Charcoal suit with dark vest and patterned bow tie – The blue plaid adds interest and a subtle air of vintage style.

Striped dress shirt and pastel tie – Paired with a light, neutral suit and shades, this is a perfect look for an outdoor wedding.
