Ballerina buns are a stylish, classic updo option for any bride. Whether it’s a sleek donut or messy knot, they can be formed into any shape or size. You may think buns are perfect for spring and summer weddings only, but think again, winter weddings are full of gowns with illusion and keyhole backs and cover-ups. You’ll want to have your hair in an updo to show off the intricate detailing on the back of your own wedding gown. Even your bridesmaids can pull off this updo to showcase a statement piece of jewelry they may be wearing along with their dress. For more hairstyle inspiration, check out our updo photo gallery.

Inspiration for your wedding decor can come from anywhere – and a favorite movie, especially a classic film like the1952 Gene Kelly/Debbie Reynolds favorite Singin’ in the Rain, is a great place to start. We love how the creative Savannah-based vendor team, lead by Morgan Gallo Events and Azelle Photography, took this idea to heart by creating a style shoot full of Old Hollywood glamour and a touch of whimsy. Of particular note are the bright color palette, old school-meets-modern lounge area, raindrop-inspired details at every turn (love that cake!), and the vintage umbrellas hanging above the dance floor. Who said that rain on your wedding day is a bad thing? Check out the stunning, inspiring photos below – plus a bonus video from this gorgeous shoot.

From the Event Designer: “The look for this wedding style shoot was mostly inspired by my love of the early California Missions with their beautiful yet rustic, natural landscape and plants surrounding them. There’s nothing like the stately grandiose of a giant oak or the sustainability of unique succulents! Of course, the other half of my heart adores all things vintage. With a Spanish and Mexican influence combined, “early california ranch style” feels to me like rich, bold flowers and hearty furnishings mixed with soft details. I couldn’t resist a mix of red, burgundy and fuchsia, and a bright pop of lime throughout. ¡Salud!”
