Given yesterday’s tragic events in Oklahoma, we wanted to take a moment to encourage you to consider adding a charitable element to your wedding day celebration. Whether you ask guests to make a donation on your behalf or make a donation yourself in lieu of favors, it’s a good idea to start your marriage off on a generous and charitable note. We recommend letting guests know about any donations with a small sign – either on each table or near the escort cards. You can also put a note in your ceremony program if you so desire. If you’re specifically looking to respond to the Oklahoma tragedy, here are a few organizations that are worth looking into:

Oklahoma Red Cross

Central Oklahoma Humane Society

Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma

Salvation Army

Oklahoma Baptist Disaster Relief

Are you planning on including a charitable element to your wedding day? Tell us about it in the comments!

Calling All Chocoholics!

One of our favorite parts of Valentine’s Day is the abundance of those heart-shaped boxes filled with delicious chocolates. Whether you’re the type who examines the map inside the box and picks out your favorite fillings or just dives right in, chocolate truffles are a decadent treat. So why not include these Valentine’s Day favorites in your wedding celebration? Instead of setting up a traditional candy buffet, provide an all-chocolate-truffle spread for your guests. Place the chocolates on trays and plates of varying shapes, sizes, and heights, and identify the treats with little signs. Offer a wide variety of favorites – from classic chocolate-covered caramels to more adventurous flavors like Mexican chili chocolate. You can also provide heart-shaped boxes for your guests to fill with the sweets – for a real nod to Valentine’s Day. For more chocolate favor ideas, check out our photo gallery.

You can’t help but “fall in love” with our fall favor inspiration. Edible favors are the most popular among guests these days, so give them something sweet like  s’mores kits, mini pies and caramel apples. Fall isn’t complete without pumpkins. Another idea is to let your guests pick out a mini pumpkin from your own patch. For more inspiration, check out our favorite fall wedding favors gallery.
