If you’re having an engagement party, you’re probably scouring your closet, the mall, or your favorite shopping websites for an appropriate outfit. Depending on your engagement party’s venue and theme, there are several different types of ensembles you could wear, but we think the short, white dress is a safe bet. The four (brand-new!) dresses pictured above are some of our favorites.
Jim Hjelm: We love this style for an engagement fete at your family’s favorite restaurant. The lace, bow, and flouncy silhouette keep things feminine, but the beading ups the glam factor.
Encore by Watters: This dress would look gorgeous at an outdoor, waterside celebration. We love the sweet lace paired with the form-fitting silhouette and neckline.
David’s Bridal: Are your friends throwing you a fiesta at your favorite nightclub? Try this sparkly style with its open sleeve detail – so chic and glam!
Theia: For an outdoor backyard event, try this super-girly lace dress with a fun retro feel.
Which of these dresses would you wear to your engagement bash? Let us know in the comments!
For the Creekside shoot, the design team of Stems Floral and Liv By Design were inspired by gorgeous spring lilacs and green viburnum. It’s the perfect time of year to use them and both varieties are only around for a short time. The shades of purple and bright greens in all white containers really popped against the natural backdrop next to the creek. We loved the juxtaposition of tall, modern vases next to smaller vintage containers. The crystal chandelier hanging overhead adding the perfect finishing touch. Guest books are not for everyone, and sometimes a lot of the ideas we see can take up time that your guests should be spending with you at your cocktail hour or reception. Here are four ideas that are time sensitive, and quite fun!
1. Mad Libs ~
Quick and easy for the guests to fill out, but each one will have it’s own unique touch to it!
2. Photo Booth Pics ~
Have your photo booth company can print two copies of each photo booth session, have your guests put them into a photo album and sign their names.
3. Sign a Balloon (“Up!” inspired guest book) ~
You’ve seen the idea of having your guest sign leaves on your marriage tree, but this idea is so cute, especially if you loved the movie, “Up!”.
4. Inspiration from Love Poems ~
This idea is for a couple who loves poems, or phrases from a certain novel. I love this concept. It allows the guest to share words of wisdom without having to think of something unique and witty (not all of us are quick thinkers on this type of thing).
