The most important criteria for choosing your wedding-day ensemble is that you feel comfortable in whatever look you choose, and that it suits your style. If a traditional wedding gown just isn’t for you, we love the new white bridal pant suits and outfits that several designers showcased this season – they still feel totally “bridal,” but it’s definitely a unique look. They’re tailored, flattering, and, yup, pretty darn sexy. They also make great “going away” outfits, or would look so chic at a city rehearsal dinner or engagement party. Check out our favorite bridal pant suits here, and be sure to check out our New York Bridal Market page for the newest wedding dresses, and trend reports. And let us know in the comments: Would you wear a bridal pant suit?

Yesterday we shared the top trend from New York Bridal Market – metallics! But if you’re not so into the metallic look, there were lots of other hot trends this season, including halter necklines, and blue wedding dresses. Halters are a gorgeous way to show off amazing shoulders – they’re sexy but still feel totally wedding-appropriate. And we’re loving all of the blue styles this season – it’s such a flattering shade on so many skin tones. Looking for even more wedding dress trends? From cool coverups to hi-lo hemlines to sequins, we have a sneak peek of the styles that will be hitting a bridal salon near you in 2014! Visit our Bridal Fashion Week page for even more new wedding and bridesmaid dresses.
We just returned from New York Bridal Market, and we’re both exhausted and exhilarated. As a team, we viewed over 70 collections, thousands of dresses (nearly 1,125 by our estimate!) and hundreds of accessories, and spotted some very clear wedding dress trends. So what was the biggest trend of the season? We’re calling it now…

Gold, silver, and everything in between! We loved the glamorous and regal, yet still totally wedding-appropriate and flattering look of metallic wedding gowns (and some bridesmaid styles too!). From grand ballgowns to slinky lace sheaths, rich golds and luminous silvers were shown on all silhouettes and gown styles. Check out our favorite metallic styles from the Fall 2014 New York Bridal Market in our special bridal market section, and be sure to check out all of the brand-new, hot-off-the-runway designer collections.
