Since first launching her bridal collection in 1996, Monique Lhuillier has become synonymous with an amazing attention detail and well-constructed gowns, specifically her corsetry. You have seen her gowns on Hollywood red carpets and on celebrity brides — both Carrie Underwood and Reese Witherspoon wore gowns by Monique recently.
1 – At some point in the presentation of Monique Lhuillier’s Spring 2012 the royal wedding was mentioned as inspiration. The “Catherine” Chantilly lace gown, shown here from the back, is one of the more regal gowns of the season. The lace has a bateau neckline and a v-neck from behind. The train isn’t as long as Princess Diana’s 25’ train, but it’s beautiful and is sure to attract oohs and ahhs from your guests.
2 – Monique Lhuillier designed Reese Witherspoon’s pink wedding dress for her March wedding. Brides who would prefer a color over a white or ivory dress may want try on this blush lingerie bodice gown with full degrade embroidered organza skirt. The veil is blush-colored tulle with the same embroidery on the hem.
3 – Not sure strapless is for you? A V-neckline may be more what you’re looking for. This draped silk white organza bodice is paired with a full floral embroidered A-line skirt. The texture of the skirt is so yummy.
4 – The boning in Monique Lhuillier gowns will ensure the perfect fit — meaning comfort and no worries that the bodice will slip down. The sheath gown shown here has ivory crystal embroidered tulle over Chantilly lace.
5 – This gown, to me, is classic Monique Lhuillier. A beautiful corset bodice — this one covered with floral embellishments — with a sash detail at the waist and a satin side draped ball gown skirt. The floral details on the bodice are repeated on the matching veil. And the color of this dress is called honey.
P.S. And if you’re shopping for bridesmaid dresses you may want to check out the new Monique Lhuillier bridesmaid collection that just hit stores this season.
