Tawnee & Joshua
Q&A with the Bride:
What was the one thing about your venue that made you know it was the one?
We were looking for an affordable, rustic-looking barn and after searching for months we were about to give up when we found this one and fell in love! We loved the location. It was just a short walk to the local covered bridge and old mill and the surrounding town was just as rustic and homey as the barn. It made everything come together.
Which details from your wedding were your favorites?
The ring “pillow” which was actually my an old Bible that belonged to my grandfather, who passed away when I was about 8 or so. I decorated the Bible with burlap and ribbon.
Our guest quilt. I had everyone send us a piece of cloth with their RSVP and I sewed them together before the wedding. It was the first quilt I had ever made and I was quite proud of myself. At the wedding we used it as a backdrop for a simple little DIY photobooth where guests could write on a chalkboard a message they wanted us to see and could dress up in silly hats, glasses, scarves and such.
In lieu of doing the typical sand pouring or unity candle we did a wine ceremony. It was very unique and turned out great.
I have to add that I loved just the general décor of the actually ceremony itself with the hay bale seating, the beautiful flower arrangements made by my aunt, the simple but elegant arch at the front, the crates we used as a table for the wine and the log cabin backdrop to top it all off.
Give us the one moment in your wedding day you can’t stop thinking about.
When my husband and I were at the altar, I just remember trying to listen to our preacher and every time I would glance up at Josh he would just be staring at me with this cute little smile on his face! I guess he couldn’t keep his eyes off of me. I don’t know why but I had to keep myself from starting to giggle. I’ve never had anyone look at me so intently before I guess.
