Known for amazing construction, the Spring 2012 Anna Maier-Ulla-Maija collection was comprised of sheaths and ballgowns with a careful attention to detail. Inspired by “moods” the designer explained that he thought about various moods surrounding the feeling and meaning of romance when designing each of the 15 gowns in the collection. Here are five that enhanced our mood:

Bubble Hem: While the lines on the bodices are very flattering, it’s the bubble hem of the full skirts that caught our eye. A popular design element over the last few years, the bubble hem makes a skirt look fuller and is a nice alternative to the traditional straight-edged hem.

Pink Underlay: The number one alternate color to white and ivory this season was white — we’re sure we won’t be the only ones with a Pretty in Pink editorial story this season. This soft white reengineered French floral lace is over a pale pink double charmeuse fluted undergown.

Rosegold: Embellishing this tea-length ballgown is a rosegold lochrosen embroidery. A chic alternative for the bride who likes and wants pink but not an all-over pink gown.

Lace: The most traditional wedding dress fabric, these two lace gowns are light and airy while still being constructed in a way that gives structure to the dress.

Illusion Back: Show off your sexy back while still being modest with an illusion back detail. The back of this gown has Chantilly lace with a three-button closure.
