This week, we visited the Fancy Food Show at the Washington Convention Center to search for the coolest new edible wedding favor ideas. Of course, we saw lots of chocolate – the most obvious choice for a sweet favor. But we were delighted to see many other options – in particular, artisan caramels. It’s a bit of a foodie-friendly twist on the candy favor, and there were lots of flavor and packaging options to choose from. Check out four of our favorite caramel companies. Even though these sweets are sold all over the country, for a local twist, hand out caramels that are made near your hometown or wedding location – they also make great welcome-basket additions!
Mouth Party Caramels, Baltimore, Maryland
A cool collection of flavors, like Cappuccino, Cinnamon, and OMG! (a chocolate caramel with fleur de sel), plus some pretty packaging options.
Suss Sweets, Nashua, New Hampshire
We love Suss’s simple paper packaging for a rustic wedding – plus they’ll customize their labels to add a personal touch. Flavors include Gingerbread Caramel (winter wedding favor, anyone?) and Pumpkin Sea Salt (great for fall celebrations!).
Happy Goat, San Francisco, California
The Coconut & Lime Caramels were one of the most unique flavors we saw, but they’re pretty darn tasty!
Big Picture Farm, Townshend, Vermont
Is there anything cuter than packaging with two goats smooching on it? We didn’t think so. We also loved the caramel-filled cloth satchels in bright colors and prints as favors for rustic weddings. Plus, this company can personalize bulk orders.
Would you give out caramel favors at your wedding? Check back later this week for more fun favor ideas from the Fancy Food Show!
